I know how to get it... where to get it... etc.

But could someone please tell me how to unseal it legitly? I mean, the correct for-sure method down to the last detail?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Please note im asking how to unseal it for the Nintendo Gamecube version of Episode I&II.

is it true that if you put a sealed J into a present on xbox and GC the present wont unwrap?

Yes, but ST fixed that on the GC servers by no longer allowing a user to wrap a SJS. The ones that were wrapped are still unopenable though.

That was only a glitch for the first few weeks of online. Sonic Team fixed it so you cannot wrap a Sealed J Sword.

That's right, ST fixed something to stop people from turning a few hundred hours of Gi-Gue killing into a paper weight. They fixed something. *adds that to mental list of things they fixed... mental short list... >.> *

Actually, someone from a different forum made a thread that showed that a SJS has a variable kill count. This is a quote from there...

This Kill counter occupies the last % slot of the weapon (this doesn't mean ruins it just means it occupies the last 2 bytes of the code:

Seal J sword 1:

00330000 00000005 00058005 Default from drop
00330000 00000000 00058006 After 1 Kill

Seal J sword 2:

00330000 00000000 00080000 Default from drop
00330000 00000000 00080001 After 1 Kill

It looks Like the seal J swords Counter can start randomly from 0 - 8000 hex

when the counter hits FFFF Hex (65535 dec) It will display the option to use

which means worst case senario you have to kill 65,535 enemies

One you get the option to use If you bank or put the item in a trade window the item will default back to its normal kill counter and you have to start over, The is no warning that it has unsealed you just have to check your inverntory everyso often and it would appear a legit sealed J can have 2 % on any areas including mines.

I already stated a long while ago that the kill count had to be variable as there was no way I killed 23,000 enemies with it before the USE option was available. Furthermore, that information is incorrect about having to start the kill count over again is incorrect. The counter does not go back to zero when you bank the item at all, or if you put it into a trade window.

With such a glaring oversight as that included in his findings, I am less likely to believe the final numbers that were published with that post, although the variable kill count is correct.

banking it doesnt matter either - trust me - i banked mine and took it online to show my friend the unsealing of it.

The kill count will remain on the sword until it is either unsealed or otherwise hacked.

Banking saves the kills.

Dropping it or lending it via trade window will make you lose the kills since the last save.

The information indirectly posted by Bot-Bot is false, the kill count is always 23,000.

And how is your information more valid?

Cause Kef said so http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Frankly, I think the people who count more than 23,000 are wrong. Not because I've tested it myself, or that I'm just gonna believe the more believed opinion, but because, well, have YOU ever counted to 23, 000? I think people just make mistakes in the counts. There are so many ways that you could overcount kills that it's not even funny.

I'm not saying that it's for sure 23,000, but I'm more willing to believe that.

It's also been stated that the original poster of that information made a huge typographical error and the count doesn't vary from 0-8000. The corrected data was this:

Seal J sword 1:

00330000 00000005 00058005 Default from drop
00330000 00000000 00058006 After 1 Kill

Seal J sword 2:

00330000 00000000 00008000 Default from drop
00330000 00000000 00008001 After 1 Kill

Maybe tomorrow I'll test it by setting the kill count to 23,000 (59D8 in hex) through item modding and seeing if it has the unseal option. If not I'll go up in 10,000 incremements until the unseal option appears and then work my way back down in 5000 increments, then 2000, then 1000. I know Skorp and Kef can both item mod also, so maybe they can try it and save my lazy behind the work http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

If the kill counter has a variable starting position, modding up to X kills won't prove much. The final count may be 23,000, but there might also be a start-variable of, say, 1000.

Can anyone explain why I didnt see a "Use" option on my Sealed J Sword until well into the 27,000's? I didnt even count my kills manually. I let MA2 count them for me. Quest numbers dont lie or make mistakes. That's been a mystery to me to this day. I've just been blaming it on lag.

It's just that sometimes kills do not get saved at the end of a run if you do not bank your sword, especially on Gamecube; you did quite a few MA2 runs for nothing, just as I did for MA1.

.. On-topic I think the variable start sounds likely. After all, why should it not be possible for it to drop having 'percentages' in the last slot?
