GC-Item: Sting Tip or Elysion for battleforce?

Which should I hunt and why?

By 'battleforce', I think 'melee', so who is it are you using to fight? Also it means that you have acess to either of these weapons. So let's take a look..


Elysion: ATP +360-368, Grind +9, Max ATP +378-386, ATA +52
Sting Tip: ATP +170, Grind +30, Max ATP +230, ATA +40 MST +30

As you can see for strictly meleeing, Elysion has more attack power, ATP, & attack accuracy, ATA, than Sting Tip. It's obvious which should be a better choice for meleeing.

I'm using FOnewm to fight.
And yes, Elysion is better attack-wisely, but Sting Tip boosts MST!

I think either I'm confused with your wordings or you are confused with the concept of a melee force. ;]

If you are using fonewm to melee, but you like weapons that boost MST as well, then you aren't really trying to melee. You just wanna take a whack or two at the enemies while using your techs. A 'hybrid' is a better term for this.

Notice that I said 'strictly meleeing' up there, Elysion has more ATP & ATA. If you want a hybrid, Sting Tip is better, since you can steal TPtoo.

If you're stricly meleeing, there are better weapons for this. SRank Saber/Twin/Scythe, Soul Banish, Slicer series?

But yeah, I'll go for Elysion as it is easer to get. =)

Elysion is a Saber, but Sting Tip is a Cane. As such, Elysion attacks slightly faster. Given this, and it's superior physical stats, it is the clear winner for a melee weapon. Sting Tip har the battle-animation as a saber.

That's a common misconception. Canes and Sabers have the same animation, but Sabers are slightly faster.

A sting tip is a saber, you can tell by the sound differance.

I would use both and see what you like.

I, however, prefer Elysion-It shoots a free Foie blast, which is what a lot of the basic enemies (and even some of the non-basic ones) are weak to magic-wise. Plus, as Dhylec said, Elysion is stronger and more accurate.

Sting Tip is better as a tech weapon, because of its Giest special. But even then, you have not only easier access to it, but you have a much better Giest weapon in Mahu.

So, go with either, but I think Elysion is much better. (Plus, I have a Mahu with 60 hit and a Sting Tip with 0 hit. Which do you think I'm gonna use? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif)

If only for looks, the Elysion is more fitting for a FO.
Rather seeing one with a sleek runic blade then a purple spiked mace.. and IMO, the Elysion is also the better choice!

I have compared the two with my FOmarl and that the Elysion provides better ATP and ATA the Sting Tip is good for combat as well although a little slower but wouldn't rely too much on it for combat.
