When you completely max your character out does your shield, and armor matter, or can you just have any old shield, and any armor as long as you have the right units? and if you still get a dfp/evp boost from them wouldn't that be going over that characters max stat limitations? Thanks in advance for clearing this up for me!!

When you look at your stats, there are ones inside parenthesis and ones outside. The ones inside are your base stats, the ones you can max out. Outside of the parenthesis are your equipped stats, the ones you fight with. The only ways to add to base stats are with materials, units, mag stats, and if youre a FOrce, some weapons add to mst. When you max out your base stats, you can still make your equipped stats go up depending on what shield/armor/weapon you are using. When you max a stat, the stat in the parenthesis turns yellow, while the stat outside stays white.
