View Full Version : GC-Item: The Pal Rappy's drop rate...

The Greenill drop chart said that the Pal Rappy would drop a GUARD WAVE. The chances were 1/2. I have killed about five Pal Rappys (thanks to the Fake in Yellow quest), and I haven't found a SINGLE GUARD WAVE. Why?

Well it's like flipping a coin, even though there's a 1/2 chance of you getting heads or tails, you dont always get what you want.

Just keep trying you'll get it soon enough.

Edit: Welcome to PSOW!

Alright. I'm kinda used to it being like this: If it says 1/587, then that means that 1 out of the 587 of that enemy is going to drop what I'm looking for. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Thanks also for the welcome.

It's a good thing PSO's drop rates are random, or else it'd be pretty boring

Take for example, although it only took me 2 Pal Rappies to get the Pinkal Drop, it took me 9 Mil Lilies to get Windmill (From the various IDs that get it). Tough luck, eh?

and you'd be surprised how fast the uber ones drop for lucky people, I joined a random game one time on PSO-X and we went to F2 and a tollaw dropped a lavis!! He was like level 84. Just got into Ult.

You mean...the Nei's Claw that Sue uses? I'm still trying to get my HUnewearls' rares back, and---

YOU GOT A WINDMILL WITH A LV 56 PURPLENUM ON ULTIMATE?! How? What enemy?

The Claw that Sue uses is a Replica Nei's Claw. The real one looks much different.

Also, I believe Windmill drops Ultimate Temple Mil Lilies, at 1/2. (Never had a Purplenum, so not 100% sure)

It doesn't quite work like that. It means that each enemy you kill has a 1 in 587 chance of dropping the rare item. There is no guarantee you will get the item after killing 587 enemies. If anything, 587 represents the average number you would have to kill to get the desired item.

I posted about the drop-rates before. It pretty much works like this.

Let's say you're looking for a Viridia Red Sword, from a Nano Dragon. The droprate is 1/573.

1 Nano Dragon Killed= 1/573
2 Nano Dragons Killed= 1/573
5 Nano Dragons Killed= 1/573
573 Nano Dragons Killed= 1/573
1000 Nano Dragons Killed= 1/573

The actual droprate does not get better for each kill (i.e, it does not go 1/573, 2/573, 3/573). However, by logic, you should have more chance of a rare drop the more of that enemy you kill- you have killed more, and had more chances at hitting the rare drop. Meanwhile, the actual droprate itself never changes.

Basically, what this boils down to is, you could get that Guard Wave on your 1st Pal Rappy, your 2nd, or you may not get one until your 20th. There is even a chance (albeit INCREDIBLY small) that you'd never find one at all, but with a 1/2 drop, that is very unlikely.

exactly, just because you kill the number of monsters of the indicated type does not necessarily guarantee that you will get that item in that number of kills.

Yeah. It has nothing to do with how many enemys you kill. I found 3 mahus from a 1/213 drop by the time I had killed 70.
