I know that they're probably dead but how? Were they two of the scientists that were killed when Beta 772 went on a rampage and escaped into the Sewer system? I'm just curious.

As I recall... they were on Pioneer 1 were they not?

They, along with other Pioneer 1 settlers, are gone - killed by crazed monsters or by Falz.
