Something in Kabbalah.... a fundamental topic... each end of the tree of life.... plus there are 2 anomalies in the tree of life. http://www.digital-brilliance.com/kab/nok/index.htm

just wanted to educate you..... Sephiroths.... who go about not knowing what they actually are....

Yeah.
SE just takes random things from random old books or just random words from random languages and makes them names for characters/summons/items/etc.

Although I never knew where Sephiroth originated from.

And WHY is this in PSU General?

Maybe to stop people from naming thier character Sephiroth?

I counter that Sephiroth is also a pimp (http://images.google.com/images?client=opera&rls=en&q=Sephiroth&sourceid=opera&oe=UTF-8&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi) and not just some hippy tree, and that you can't keep a good pimp down.

No, Sephiroth is not pimp. Theres almost nothing original about his character. Just another badass villian weilding a huge weapon, and because its a japanese game, they had to make him effiminate and give him long hair. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
Theres better game villians out there.

There is almost nothing original about pimps, either.

So basically, you're saying Sephiroth isn't original? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

On topic: Yeah, trees. >_>

Well to be technical, you have effiminate pimps(the guy on Blue Hill), Masculine pimps(Terrance Howard) on hustle and flow), and flamboyant pimps(Katt Williams a.k.a Money Mike)......(I'm not trying to be serious nor create an arguement)
------------------
I've never played FF7 but I've seen this sephiroth guy and he reminded me of Fou Lou from Breath of Fire 4. Personally I'm not to fond of leading characters/villains that have girl like appearances but to each its own.

But thanks for spreading the Knowledge of the name Sephiroth. I learned something today.

You know it's hard for a pimp out there. </spam> I'm sorry, I just HAD to say that.

My family was talking about what to name my brothers new baby when my cousins girlfriend said that someone ACTUALLY named their kid Sephiroth.

I feel sorry for that kid. HOPEFULLY the parents didn't use the game as a reference to that.

Lamest final boss EVER!

Sad thing is, my friends sisternamed her son Chase, and admited that she named him after the bank.

Of course there are - Allow me to guide you through a mini-tour of the best videogame villains of all time.

There's Bowser, a fire breathing dragon-lizard-reptile, who rides karts and occasionally plays golf and tennis. Sometimes he just growls for an entire videogame, some other times he can actually quote Shakespeare's works:

http://www.nwe.ufl.edu/~ltaylor/teaching/f02/ssteinha/bowser.gif

Eggman, a fat dude who (despite his supposed IQ of 300) can NEVER get his hands on some Chaos Emeralds, always letting some 15-year-old domestic animal thwart his plans horribly. He flies around in something that matches/resembles his belly and is also the proud owner of the biggest, LAMEST moustache on earth:

http://www.powersonic.com.br/saiba_mais/personagens/media/robotnik.jpg

Darl Falz. Nobody is sure of exactly WHAT he is (but who cares - he's the bad guy), and he keeps popping up in PS videogames, supposedly representing evil in essence, rather than a creative and colorful monster design:

http://www.pscave.com/ps1/ps1e/drkfalz1.gif

Kefka, the girly clown dude (?) whose mighty wrath is triggered whenever sand is found in one of his high-heeled boots. Later on (spoilers!) he transforms into his dreaded form: Same as before, but wearing diapers:

While these are not all, any of them sure beat an artificially built inhuman soldier and katana master, who stabbed a pacifist girl named Aeris, to help to gain control of his clone's mind, and ultimately gain control of the planet itself by merging with its lifestream, totally disregarding human life.

He also looks bad. And bad as in lame.

What was (ex) Squaresoft thinking? Bunch of noobs. No wonder they went on crying to Enix for help.

also.. if you watched Neon Gensesis Evangelion... the tree of life layout in the movie is the same.... although I am confused... is Shinji Daath or Tipheret... unit 01 is the other.... and the giant rei is En Soph, god the unknowable... heh though I believe shinji was Tipheret .. the consciousness of consciousness.... after all, god did give him the decision of waht to do with humanit... and he chose that people could only come back if people found themselves in their souls... consciousness.... ~~ but that makes Unit 01 an oddball.... it was not a sephira then, rather... some other thing.. Daath.. while the other eva and shinji were sephiroth.... that seems kinda weird, I may be wrong.... ... I dont think shinji really represented knowledge...

actually, there was more than one Sephiroth... hence the name was plural... the singlar for of Sephiroth is Sephira ... now I missed out on all the FF7 subtelties as a little kid... so I can't really tell you if there are 10 Sephiroth... and if Cloud is Daath... though cloud seems opposite of knowledge.... given his lack of memories and his amnesia in the lifestream http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif.
