Ye, I imagine seeing some sort of Achievement system for Offline mode.

ah its best not to be so concerned about 'achievement' points.

games back then never needed such a useless points system to have things to do. and they don't need it now. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

all this 'achievement' stuff reminds of those silly badges those scouts hand out for basket weaving and stuff like that. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

There's been talk about MS doing something with the achievement system eventually. It may be useless but it sort of makes the gameplay a bit more fun spending time through the game and trying to get the harder achievements.

There have been no official announcements about achievements points on the XBox 360 yet. At this point, the best answer a person can give you is "maybe."

Achievements rock! They give you something challenging to do, and since you can see your friend's achievements, it makes for some fun competition. Right now, I'm leading my two best friends on Live by several thousand points http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

PSU will most likely have achievements for 360, just because it's multiplatform doesn't necessarily rule it out completely. Several 360 games are also on PS2/PC and they have achievements. As far as FFXI goes, Square probably assumed all the 360 players would eventually quit anyway (like I did) so they just said "Screw this!" http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Yeah, achievements are a great idea. Especialy since I'm constantly judging and being judged based on some irrelevant criteria at work. It's good to know that I can be under the same kind of scrutiny during my recreation time too. I mean hey, life just isn't fun unless you're being graded in everything you do.

I'm hoping that someone will release some toilet paper consumption statistics soon so I know how I stack up against my peers.

It had more to do with Square Enix just not putting forth the effort.

i dont see y not... FFXI was still on sony servers so they couldent realy do that, but if PSU hase seperate 360 servers, there is no reason to no have points.

on a personal note i like points cause it keeps me playing some games. i dont need an EA game so i can point boost, all i need is another reason to get the most out of the game that i can. for example: on DOA3 i felt no need to try to get gold in anything cause its not like any1 would know or care, and it was hard with no realt reward but personal satisfaction that i would rather get from beating another computer. but on DOA4 i feel like there is another goal for me to acheive if i dint have the top position. (check out 360 profile ANIMEniac if you wanna see my acheivements)
