Offlien stock up on fluids, you'll be needing them. Don't upgrade techs when you're sure you can handle the TP management. Keep distance away from most enemies, If you're not whoring techs, find/use a decnet pair of mechguns.

Online... go look up Ian-KunX's guide, somewhere in this site. Basically, spam D/S/Z/J, (personal priority prefrence, standard goes by s/d/j/z)
don't be an ass with offensive techs, and leech all the fluid drops, you'll need them. Meh, Ian would probably come by to elaborate in a bit.
