My girlfriend's birthday is coming up, July 23rd, and I need some ideas.

I'm not really good at getting other people gifts.

So... uhh... any ideas?

<_<

Simple is always best. On my girlfriend and my 6th month semi-aniversery I got her 13 roses(farm fresh sells bouquets in bakers dozens instead of regular dozens.) Take her out to dinner and a movie, Unless of course it conflicts with other plans she may have with family.

Not sure I can do dinner, as I do not have car or a license. Maybe we could out to like Six Flags or the movies or something. I was thinking about the roses.

I'd get her something small, but very sentimental.
But like Animeloser said, simple is always best. Don't go for any big huge present. If it was me, I'd get her a locket and a small teddy bear. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

What are her likes?

How old will she be?

How long have you been dating?

Choose something appealing to her, lasts long, isn't too much money, and won't quite lose its touch for years to come.

Sentimental is always best. The material object doesn't have to be super-schnazzy, the symbolism is what counts. How did you guys meet? Where? Plan something around that maybe....or save it for the anniversary http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

1.) Anime, Me, Singing, Music, Swimming, Baseball, Volleyball

2.) 15

3.) 2 months and 18 days currently today. >_> (Shut up, I remember these things)

How did you guys meet? Where?

We met at a party. And I asked her to dance. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Mmmm....I'm not sure how much money is in your budget. But you said she likes baseball? I have a friend who paid for a message to play on the bigscreen during the game. It was like $100 or something...not exactly cheap. But his gf loved it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I'm getting my paycheck in a few days (hopefully, dammit) from working at the fireworks stand, I'm getting paid about 350 bucks, and I already have about 100, so I can afford to get something pretty nice for her.

And at Busch Stadium, you can text a message up on the screen for like 8 bucks. But I doubt I can get tickets to a game now. >_>

Aww, that's sweet http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Besides, not all boyfriends are terrible, "Forget-anniversaries," kinda people. Tomorrow is 7 months http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Well, although it's low budget (So, you can do better), I got my last crush a necklace on her birthday. Apparently she liked it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Roses and chocolates are so overdone, try to stay away from them if you can! Try and be romantic - show that you're more than just a friend to her; that you know her more than others. Maybe an inside joke between you and her could be part of it, maybe a favourite song, something like that. Not that you have to be so confined - just something a little 'fresher' would be better.

Sounds stupid, but for my girlfriend's birthday about 6 months ago, I bought her a custom-made T-shirt with an icon I made in photoshop on it. The icon was http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v345/Aidanjalali/Loveavatar2.jpg

She loved it, thank god. Maybe that's not your girlfriend's cup-of-tea though. Just judge for yourself what'll be different and show you truly pay attention to her.

If you want to be unoriginal, however, go with Animeloser's idea and get roses. After all, his sig quotes 'Originality is for chumps' http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Not like I believe that. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif If you were a girl and got roses, would you be satisfied?

If you make a really nice card, I think they'd appreciate it more.

Jul 15, 2006, 10:27 PM
Ok, I'm probably going to get the roses. >_> I've decided that much, I'm going to ask her friends if she has an Inuyasha DVD thingy already, because that's like, her favorite anime. She LOVES Inuyasha, a lot.

maybe an inuyasha stuffed doll perhaps?

She likes music? Maybe a CD of a band she likes? Or perhaps you guys have a "song"? CD's are a plus, since they aren't too much money, and at such an early point in the relationship, she'll like any gift AT ALL.

Honestly, she'll love anything you get her. Just the thought, that you thought of something for her, will drive her crazy.

No worries about the months, days, etc. thing.

9 months, 4 days, & approx. 9 hours. xp

3 more months until I meet the dad! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

You haven't met her parents?

Yeah, she probably would love about anything I got her, but I don't want to half-ass it.

I'll think about it more tomorrow.

That's a great idea, Hrigg! Roses and chocolates, blergh, but roses and something that counts...yeh, go for it! DVD of Inuyasha would be awesome, shows that you paid attention :|

I suppose it all depends on the type of person you're with. One of my first girlfriends was extremely picky, even though she pretended not to be...it annoyed the hell out of me, but I still stayed with her for almost 2 years. =_=

I've only met her mom.

Her dad actually refuses to meet me.

Example, "I don't want to meet him." =/

Now I just need to find out if she has any DVD's of it, without asking her.

Good thing I know her best friend's phone number. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Diamonds, that'll shut 'er up

EDIT: But seriously, kiss her, tell her you love her, hand her the roses, take her hand, and take a walk on the beach

Second EDIT:At nighttime, trust me, it works

3rd Edit: and say something romantic to her in French

well speak of the devil my girlfriend's birthday was today >.>
-bouquet of flowers
-earrings
-CD
-card
she was estatic.
and the months thing: 7 months, 12 days, and about.....4 hours?

The best thing you do is go out and buy a card, and fill it up with your own writting. Chicks love that man. Other than that, is try and think of something she would like but would never expect. That's a huge plus.

Here's my lineup:
Card
CD (Not sure what, gonna ask her friends' if they know any CD's she wants)
Flowers http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I might get like a teddy bear or something also because they're so damn cool. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Instead of the CD, I got her this really nice looking jewelry set (hooray for sales http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif ) and a card. I am still going to get some roses, because that's how awesome I am.

Don't feel cheap to look around man.

Roses are expensive.

I know they are expensive. I have bought them before.

My dad has a card to get a free one anyway. So I'll save some money. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Yeah, I didn't have much time to describe the party yesterday, because I was really tired. So I guess I'll describe it now.

The weather was perfect. Nice and sunny, not too hot, but warm enough, with a nice breeze. The pool was not as crowded as I thought it would be.

I gave her the roses as soon as I saw her, and she was shocked. She loves roses. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif When it was time to open presents, she opened mine first. The jewelry set I got was not only shiny (I like shiny things) but the gems were also in her favorite color, green. Plus the card I got her was funny. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

It was hard to get some serious alone time, because there was a lot of people there, including many of her younger family members. We finally got some alone time and I gave her a nice big birthday kiss and we just talked for a while.

It was a pretty good day, IMO.
