This is what I've been doing last June and up to now. A figure kit conversion to my very first character on PSO (V1 Dreamcast), REHHAD (Yellowboze).

The Rag Rappy is made out of silver foil and air-drying clay.

The Meseta is cardboard covered in old christmas wrapping paper.

The saber is FIMO soft (supposedly transparent, but obviously, it's just barely translucent) and removable.

For the base, I used textures from the game, printed out with a colour laser printer.

I didn't finish her mag Nandin yet. I also don't know how to fix the mag onto her.

Anyways, pictures:

Wow, cool stuff there. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

not often we get this sort of thing popping up in fanworks. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Looks wonderful. I am quite impressed. :3

What did you mount the base on? plastic? foamboard?

Thank you! The base is just pine wood - a bar that I cut a piece off and sanded the edges. I think foam would be too light to keep the figure stable.

Well, it does have some flaws that just don't show in the photos.. Her arms for example, to cover the part lines of the pieces, is a bit messy.

But thanks to everyone for their kind words! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

All I can say is Excellent job. It turned out/or is turning out great.

You've been working on this for over a year? Definitely don't want to rush, mistakes on figurines are a pain to repair.

Very nice! I don't know too much about how these kinds of things work, but it seems like you did a great job, I like the Section ID and the pants in particular, on the character.

The rappy is definitely way cool.

This is what I've been doing last June and up to now.
The time you put into this thing really paid off! It's definitely something FanWorks doesn't get everyday...but it's a welcome addition! I'm wondering how big this is? A tiny Meseta piece would be very hard to wrap http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif Could you get a pic of it next to your hand or something, just so we can get an idea http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Very good though! Me love.

I would personally encourage improvement in this department.

Excellent work, SabZero. I hope you'll update us when you work out Rehhad's mag.

I like it!
Especially the rappy, since it was hand done, and they fall down JUST like that when you hit them again, and slide. The ground print-out is also very clever! But you said this is a conversion...what was she converted from? Who was she originally?
I have considered conversions, and my friend has considered action-figure conversions, but we never got around to it. How is it to work with? Easier than starting from a wire/tinfoil core?

SabZero

Well, this is where I got her from (and how she was supposed to look, heh) : http://www.e2046.com/product_info.php?products_id=3640

Oh, and to clear up any confusion - I worked on her for about 2 months (slacking in the beginning, the resculpting was the most taunting). I actually sculpted her shorts twice, the first time they were removable, then I realized that it wasn't necessary (for facilitating painting), so I redid them.
The Meseta piece is about 4 cm high. I had to use super glue to hold the foil down.

Tank1: There seem to be a few PSO kits, a RAcaseal and a rappy, but I haven't come around those yet (if you really wanted them, you would have to search for them on Yahoo!Japan). Then there's some Pinky:St conversions and some SEGA trading figures (Gashapon).

AzureBlaze: The base figure was resin, not plastic, although as long as you don't have to bake it (like super sculpy), it should be fine. I used epoxy putty (from the same store, named magic epoxy putty, which starts out quite gooey) for rescultping, and a dremel tool for a whole lot of sanding (wear your masks kids).
The rappy started out a tinfoil balls (from chocolate bars), the I covered it in a layer of airdrying clay ("das" brand, paper based I think). Then I drilled holes and stuck copper wiring in for legs, wings and the antennae. Then it's just repeating the process - waiting for it to dry, add a bit or sand/cut a bit. Have water standing by for smoothing it out.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif! Didn't see that until now. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif Nice scuplting! Painting is also quite nice. She might be able to use another 2 layers of colours on her flesh for the 3D effect though.

As for the mag. I have see people do it ... well depending on what mag it is. If it was a "mag" you could just put that on her shoulder. If it is the wing type I guess they could just stay on her back. If not... clear plastic stick? ._.
