Well from browsing the guide section i havnt seen one of these, so i decided id take a shot at my own, this guide is to cover the questions such as "best room for piping so and so" ill include pictures to show which rooms are the best for piping.
The rate for a rare monster is 1/512

The Fake In Yellow (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=446) - Click for Quest Guide
This quest is used to find enermys such as Al Rappy and Pal rappys, its well used because of the abundance of Rag rappys/el rappys.

Light blue rooms indercate the route if you are going to be doing runs, runs have an advantage over piping because more experience is gained while you kill the monsters.
Yellow rooms indercate the piping rooms, advantages of piping over runs is that you dont have to stop and start the quest as often and is faster to find the rare monsters in some cases.
*Please note that the room indercated with two 7's does not mean that both seven spawns will apear at the same time, you must kill the first spawn to make the second spawn apear.

forest of sorrow is a bit different to the fake in yellow, as in the fake in yellow there is no other monsters other than rappys, in this quest there will be others, but also alot of hildebears/hildelts, its used to find monsters such as hildeblues/hildetorrs.

*please not that the yellow room WILL NOT have 6 monsters in at first or any time, when you first enter the room do not kill the two hildebears/hildets that are there, walk further into the room and a third monster will jump in, kill this one, and as before another will jump in, kill thatone also, once thatone is dead two more will jump in, making a room of 4.

Addicting food is used for finding rare monsters such as nar/mil lilly because there an be large amount of ob/poison lillys found at one time.

Doing runs for mil/nar lillys in addicting foods isnt a good choice, there are hundeds of other monsters making it longer to do the runs.
The yellow room is the highest amount of lillys i could find at one time, i still have not found the 9 spawn. (if sombody could please copy the image and show me i would be greatfull)

Addicting foods is also used for finding Pouilly Slime's for the simple reason that it is the only quest with more than one slime which spawns at a single time.

Doing runs for Pouilly Slime's in addicting foods isnt a good choice, there are hundeds of other monsters making it longer to do the runs.
The yellow room is the only room which will have a spawn of two Pouifully Slime's at a single time, to pipe for the Pouilly Slime you must use an untekked wepon to split the Pouifully Slime's. use the special attack of the wepon (prefferably a handgun of some sort) twice, then use the single normal attack, this will split the Pouifully Slime into two, then three then to the maximum of four, do this to both slimes so there would be 8 slimes crawling about, if none are the slime you are hunting tele pipe back to P1 and then back down and repeat the process.
*Please note that NO slimes must die in the process of splitting, if one does and you find an red slime the drop would have already counted to have been dropped(if the red slimes root slime was killed)
FAQ
When hunting rappys, if you find the desired rappy, you fire at it and it runs, if you hit it before it can disapear, it WILL drop a box, weather it is the item you want is down to chance.
If a monster has a 1/2 chance of a drop, this doesnt NOT mean that if you kill one and it doesnt drop, the next one will, it is simply like flipping a coin, down to chance.
All rare monsters have a 1/512 chance of apearing, weather it apears or not is also down to chance, it does not mean that if you pipe a single enemy 512 times one will apear.
