I like Gameboy micros.and there's a really cool FF4 edition micro, but it's 200$ where I've seen it for cheap.

I kind of want a DS Lite, but my original DS works just fine and dandy. My craving for CDs, DVDs, and the occasional video game far surpasses my want of a brighter, lighter DS. >_>;

You won't be disappointed if you pick up a DS Lite.

I've been interested in getting myself a PSP, but only for the idea that I could play the movies I've made from Nintendo games on it. It would be a slow burn kind of thing.

Windsheild wipers...

The motor went out years ago, but I've never bothered spending the cash to get them fixed - or fix them myself.

Hmmm, I take the topic title to mean more of a "waste by comparison" kinda deal. Ya' know, like the things you give least priority to, due to circumstances, but still cant seem to get out of yer noggin'.

For example, I'd rather use my money to put food on the table and to pay for university tuition and books rather than to be able to own....

- a nifty $2000's worth of new clothes (including at least one new navy blue suit w/ dress shoes)
- a $1500 Sony KD-36XS955 36" FD Trinitron WEGA Hi-Scan TV
- a $300 stand for the TV (what? the TV weighs more than two times what I do)
- a $500 Sony DSC-H5 Cyber-shot 7.2-Megapixel Digital Camera (to get creative with)
- a $450 Sony DSC-N1 Cyber-shot 8.1-Megapixel Digital Camera (to take on trips)
- a $150 Lian Li PC-6077 Silver Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
- another $2500's worth of components to go into the case
- a $540 LG L1981Q 19" 8ms LCD Monitor for the neato computer above
- a good $1000's worth in DVDs and - to a lesser extent - videogames

Oh, but wait, I just remembered something. Gas costs money. So much for both food and tuition money. Ah, well, who needs food anyway?

I feel your pain with that oil paint... Whoever said that art was a cheap hobby was definately telling a lie. Art is an expensive way of life. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Things I would love to buy but don't have the money to do so?

-I would love to spend more money on books myself, but my bank account is almost dry. Heh...
-An airbrush kit and a compressor.
-A used Ford Mustang. 96+
-A PSP since my bro wont let me use his
-And a few other things which I can't remember right now...

I need another job. Or a new set of clients. >_<

You're going to be very disappointed in that the fastest processor is going to be 2.93GHz from Intel's newest line and 2.8GHz from AMD right now. Speed doesn't make a processor fast. As a matter of fact, often times with the current generation of Intel processors even when one is overclocked to 4GHz it is only equivilant to a stock 2.4GHz AMD processor. Essentially: Processor 'speed' isn't as important as how well it performs due to architecture (lolz pipeline length).

And, today for a 'mad gaming machine' 1GB is kind of pushing it. 2GB of RAM is often recommended, especially with dual-core processors. That way you are able to run more with less slowdown because there is less access to the harddrive for swapfile.

Look up good hardware review sites to make a better decision on your processor. As a personal preference with the current generation: The Intel E6600 (Conroe core) 2.4GHz dual-core with a shared 4MB cache ($316). The E6600 at stock outperforms the $999 AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 processor at 2.8GHz and the E6600 can very easily be overclocked to 3.4GHz, and with good water or other more expensive cooling methods (phase change for $1000 for instance) it can easily go into the 4GHz or more range.

Nurnurnur....

Anyone remember a while ago, I posted a rant about that drumset, and how mother's being a selfish bitchnazi about it? She took grandma's 500, my 200, and I still don't have my $650 drumset. -.-;;

Other stuff waiting to be purchased:
Laptop Hard Drive (preferably 60gb+) Current one just died. Someone gimme recommendations.
Tablet (preferably usb, and 6"x9")
Printer that doesn't suck. (Anyone have a HP printer? The printer cost $99. The ink costs $49.
My ds lite and brain age was stolen back in may, I've yet to see either again. Not too much of a loss. -.-; I do miss checking my brain age daily though, and making me feel younger by having a brain age that's three years older than I.
I went by Pearl Paint today, and saw a small set of colored pencils (media of choice) for $109, that looked pretty nifty.
Right next to that, I also saw a set of acrylics for $1499.99 (don't bother >_>)

Meh, regardless of what I -want-, most of my money's been going to books, as of late. The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, Broken for You by Stephanie Kallos, and Confessions of a Deathmaiden by Ruth Francisco. $40, right there.
Once I'm done with those three, I'm still looking forward to The Eldest by Christopher Paolini.

Gawd, I sound so greedy. >_>;;

Don't buy printers that cost more to maintain than the printer itself

Prismacolor pencils? You can a set of 120 on dick blick for around 70 bucks.

Check their acrylic sets.

I don't normally buy my colors online unless I know what the color looks like and have used it beforehand. And if you're unable to order online, Jerry's Artarama has a catalog. :3

EDIT: A Wacom tablet should be your tablet of choice since they're practically worth every red cent you pay for them. Shop around to find a good deal. I got mine at tigerdirect for a totally reasonable price.

Not to go too far off-topic, but you should try eBay for a tablet, Firo. And, as Cherry mentioned, the only brand to consider is Wacom. They used to have refurbished graphires on their site for le cheap (now I see they are offering graphire 4s, but I think you could do better with an earlier model via eBay etc).

What's up with folks buying books? God invented libraries for a reason. ;>

- Games, of course http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
- Webcam. My current one is toast, but I don't think I can afford one right now.
- Some books.
- Those gloves to facilitate lifting weights. You see a lot of people using them on health clubs, to avoid getting marks on their hands. They're not much expensive, but I don't feel they're necessary.
