I found HELL VULCANs but it does seem like they have a one hit kill very often when I use the special, so what are the chances of it killing something in one hit?

On Hell, you have 93% minus the enemy EDK... but since a Vulcan hit's 3 times per attack, it's special is reduced to 1/3... 31% minus the EDK.

So it will work in Normal... sometimes. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif A Hell Raygun would work much better, though in EP2 for Ultimate. (EP1 EDK is far too high.)

Check the Bestiary for EDK numbers.

Personally, I don't find the Dim series special helpful because you will actually be spending more time getting accuracy and actually hitting it when you can easily kill a monster in just a matter of seconds.

Go to Seabed. Hell weapons are amazing there but I suppose you do need them with some outrageous hit%. I got a two Hell Lasers (with 45 and 50 hit%) that will take out the squidies, Sinows (both of types), Recoboxes, and Morfos very very quickly. I cannot emphasize just how useful they are against Morfos.

I've had people complain about the effectiveness of Hell weapons in Episode II in general. Like Grumbly says, Hell Lasers with hit are some of the most effective weapons for Episode II, especially Seabeds.

Hell Lasers make Phantasmal World #3 a lot easier. Dolmolm/darl, Sinow Zele, Morfos, Recobox all go down fast to Hell.

On Vulcans, it's not worth using.

What is Phantasmal World anyway, online only levels?
Back on topic, I love my Hell lasers. I dislike the Silence Claw though 'cause the Hell attack keeps missing, if it is hell, or is it Dark?

Yes, Phantasmal World are Online Episode 2 quests with large enemy counts.

Special Weapons with Unreduced Hell are funny.

Heh. Oh, boo hoo hoo, I say! It's the only place that their effective in. Everywhere else, it's not worth trying it seems. Well, barring CCA and those areas, too.

I think it's just non-Fonewearl FOs and HUs that complain about it when RAs show up with S-Rank Hell Needles and the like. Hmm.... does anyone use S-Rank Hell Needles there? I notice that most people opt for Berserk or Demon specials. I suppose Needle wouldn't be the best since there are some big areas that a Needle wouldn't cover even a third of.

Does Hit% really actually boost the accuracy of the special? Maybe that's the reason why my Hell effect never hits in Ultimate.

no it just makes you hit more often giving you a better chance of it working by getting more tries basically

S-Rank Hell Shot

would that work?

Work better than Needle

Especially in places like Seabed, with the huge rooms

Try playing Episode 4, Hell works wonders against some things there.

Jizai tears through Ult Lizards, so I'm guessing it's Unreduced Hell on Twin Swords o_O

So essentially, it boosts the accuracy of the special attack so the Hell effect would work more better? Am I getting it right?

Oh, and how does Unreduced Hell work? If reduced Hell effect decreases the percentage of getting it to work, how much does it decrease?

The required EVP's can be found in the PSOW Bestiary.

Let's use that to get an example...
ATA: 235 (of you)
EVP: 600 (of enemy)
Attack sequence: N-S-S
Target Status: None

The results are:
Hit 1: 100% (115%)
Hit 2: 33% (32.65%)
Hit 3: 79% (78.6%)

So, the first hit will always make contact and do some damage.

The second attack will make contact about one third of the time. When it does "hit" the enemy, you'll hear the sound for it smacking, but it may still "miss." After it makes contact, the 93%-EDK chance is factored in. If the enemy had 60 EDK, then when the weapon hit (1/3 of the time) it would have a 1/3 chance of working... a total of 1/9 second attacks actually killing.

The third attack of the combo hits about 3/4 of the time. When you add the 93%-EDK, that would again be 1/3 for the Hell special working. So, the odds of the final hit working would be 3/12, simplified to 1/4.

Let's say that same weapon had 50hit.
Hit 1: 100% (165%)
Hit 2: 65% (65.15%)
Hit 3: 100% (121.1%)

The first attack will always do a bit of damage.

The second attack will hit 2/3 of the time, and still have 93%-EDK chance of working when it hits. (2/3) * (1/3) = 2/9... double the chance of it working on the second hit.

The third hit will always make contact.. but it still may not work. The odds of it working are once again... 93%-EDK. So, once again, on a 60EDK enemy, that is a 33% chance of the final hit actually killing.

Edit: So you know, the fact that the third attack on the 50h weapon has 121% accuracy doesn't make it any better than something with 100% accuracy. The rest goes to waste. Once you get something that is:
Hit 1: 100% (100+%)
Hit 2: 100% (100+%)
Hit 3: 100% (100+%)
With a S-S-S attack, you have perfect aim, and no amount of hit will help you on an enemy with that much EVP anymore. (But on the 600 EVP example, you would need 440 ATA to reach perfection. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif )

I wish i could play phantasmal world 3. Stupid non updating correctly psox. They gave us 1, 2, and then skipped 3, and gave us 4. The day that they skipped 3 was the same day that they "accidentally" deleted all the quests except for east and west tower and episode 1 c-mode. A month later they gave all the quests back and added PW4. They just completely forgot about 3. Then they updated for christmas and then completely abandoned the server.
