Ok, so now I'm looking for 2 programs. First one, I'm looking for a video editor (like Windows Movie Maker) that is compatible with Windows 98 (SE). And secondly I'm looking for something that can record off of your desktop.

Oh and 1 question. Is there any way to show your TV on your computer monitor without having to get a TV tuner/graphics card? I'm pretty much asking if there's a cable or cables that would allow me to do this...

Thanks for your time...

Well, I can't help you with your program queries, but I can take a shot at your question. To the best of my knowladge, there is no simple "cord" which you can connect to your PC to watch TV. Unless your PC moniter supports component, s-video, DVI, or HDMI - you're out of luck. I can't recall ever hearing of a PC moniter which accepts coaxial, and I'm not even sure that the signal from your decoder box (a Comcast HDTV decoder unit, for example, has HDMI output) will work.

If you have HDMI, it's worth a shot... but you don't then you're stuck either buying an internal card like the ATI TV Wonder VE (http://www.nulime.com/T-TV-Wonder-VE-TV-Tuners-Video-Capture-Editing-p22521-c2647.html) for $40 at the low end of the spectrum, or buying an external Component to VGA adaptor like the ViewSonic N6 (http://www.pricegrabber.com/rating_getprodrev.php/masterid=668521/id_type=masterid) like I have.

The cost difference between the two is about $150 depending on where you shop. Just remember that your PC moniter is the same as a HDTV, and you're going to get what you pay for when it comes to picture quality.
