I've been quite distracted by Chromehounds the last few weeks...but I finally did something solid again... clicky (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38198610/)

I even updated my deviant art site for the first time in forever...

Dark. I almost don't quite know what is there.
Is there an original version of it before the technical stuff got in?

ooops, I tend to forget that my LCD moniter is so much brighter than most other moniters, once I get back to Ringling and have room to dual screen with my CRT, I should be able to avoid those mistakes. Anyway, here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/MSD3000/the-kraken-pre.jpg) is the image before all the halftones

Always the cross-hatcher I see http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif Not that that's a bad thing of course,

I had a hard time making out what this bugger was, since my dark LCD against ur light one don't really coincide, but another good piece as usual. Haha, I actually turned up the brightness on my monitor, and discovered that I actually like it darker. Not quite as dark as it was, but the dim, hazy light gives it that deep-sea feel...me like! Maybe making the lower portion of the body less visible, so it feels as if this "kraken" were emerging from the depths...http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif.

Cross hatching eh? Always good in darker or rougher looking peices. Fine choise on this monster. ^_^
I also noticed its after a whale. O_O *shiver*
But personally size isn't always as scary as it seems to me. I'd really hate some little baby of that, the size of a basketball, after my neck. Exspecially with teeth like that! Epp!
Really nice teeth anyway, now that I'm looking at them. Good choice on eyes too. Nostrils are actually more unique then plain tear-drop shape, or circular, and in their own way add to it. Heck, the whole upper body is creepy. Which is pretty awesome.
And so, I compliment ye, on doing things I should try. (Which I'm saying is, I should draw more horrible monsters.)

Wicked design! And scary. I can see the darker version perfectly well, but I think a few brighter highlights would be a great way to play up certain details--though the uniform darkness is quite atmospheric. Your monster designs are always top-notch. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
