Would you cry for me? (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZHchzMINKGs) (Gotta love Youtube. Nobody gets blown away, though. It's a music video for the song Burden in my Hand.)

Remember these guys? Soundgarden is easily one of my favorite bands ever. I loved a lot of mainstream rock throughout the 90's up until the major spawning of the Emo/punk trend, but Soundgarden is among one of my alltime favorites. That isn't to say that there aren't still good bands around. I just never got tired of these guys.

Not only is Chris Cornell (lead singer) the man because of his insane vocal power, but the lyrics he writes are pretty deep.

He has a lot of soul. He actually hits himself in the throat sometimes to get a certain sound. He may not be all there, but the man has great talent and goes all out. You gotta hand him that.

A few years back, he teamed up with some other very talented musicians including Tom Morellow (Guitarist formerly of Rage Against the Machine) to form a band named Audioslave. They're not bad by any means, but I still don't like them nearly as much Soundgarden. Some bands are just timeless.

Anyways. Some of you will enjoy the video and some of you won't, but give it a try if you haven't already. I figured I'd share and pay homage to one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands. I think that music is pretty important, as it can carry a message and help us see things in ourselves. And then, of course, sometimes it just sounds really good.
