before beating Vol Opt (easy), I activated all the ruins and after talked to principal. Why cant i enter ze RUINs?

Is there a door with any lighted up totem symbols? If not, just go into the darkness of the entrance and press the A button when it says Ruin 1 or whatever http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

No, you don't...unless you quitted and saved already. Then you will have to.

Yeah, I think for Ruins access to save you need to actually ENTER the ruins. I usually do just to be safe.

I believe he is referring to the Totems that unseal the Ruins door.
