...literally! I just got a stress fracture, or the "runner's injury." It is so FUCKING painful. It's also the dumbest injury, a small little split in the bone. IT ISN'T EVEN BROKEN! This stupid little thing is going to keep me from getting my letter this year! Arg, I was running a fucking 18:18, and that was just the FIRST race! I feel so stupid, how can I be put out by this small injury. I think I can still run (got a 11:48 two mile with it), but my doctor/mom won't let me.

Does anyone know of a way to heal these things faster? I really want to get back on my team.

Thanks in advance...

No accually all you can do is take care of it until it heals up, good news is that the bone will be stronger if you let it heal!

And the worst thing you could do is attempt running on it.

You know what you need?

A Montage!

The hours approaching, just give it your best
You got to reach your prime.
That’s when you need to put yourself to the test,
And show us a passage of time,
Were going to need a montage (montage)
Oh it takes a montage (montage)

Sure a lot of things happing at once,
Remind, everyone what’s going on (what’s going on?)
And with every shot you show a little improvement
To show it all would take to long
that’s called a montage (montage)
Oh we want montage (montage)

Even rocky had a montage (montage)

Always fade out in a montage,
If you fade out, it seem like more time
Has passed in a montage,
Montage

Why would you risk causing more injury to yourself? Honestly, unless this race is a deciding factor in a scholarship that you need, or is vital to your future in the olympics, whats your problem? You're going to risk causing an injury that will be with you the rest of your life.

I am going to let it heal, lol. I just don't want to wait... I'm stuck on a freaking eliptical mashine for 50 mins a day, and THATS boring. Apparently, advil (ibueprophin sp?) helps heal bone injuries.

Does anyone know how long it takes to heal anywas?

Ask your doctor? Odds are the answer is "It'll heal when it's healed".
