easy high lvl techs

while doing a seek my master run for a spread needle, i found a gold box which dropped a tech disk. since i know these boxes always drop the same type of item i thought i'd do another run, and found another high lvl tech disk. you can find almost all different tech disks like this (most lvl 21-29, some up to lvl 30 on ult - only reverser doesn't show up). the drop rate for tech disks from this box is 100%.
this box is located in ruins 2: you defeat the enemies in the first room, then take the door on the left, kill the enemies in there, go into the teleport in the next room. the gold box is in the next room (this room also contains 2 delsabers)

Meh, some gold boxes are like that. It's just like the one in the mines where there is a single box in a small room and in it is a Monomate.

I believe what he's talking about is the "rarer" form of the Ruins boxes. The kind that are most likely to give a set item like moon atomizers and antidotes in Forest.

They're not elusive.

You got the blue boxes and the gold boxes that are sometimes around them.

I could be wrong though.

@deathwatch, dre_o, splash: i know there are boxes like this which always contain a monomate , always a moon atomizer,... (that's why i said i know these always contain the same kind of item). and in ult ruins, these boxes look gold, while normal ones look blue. the only thing is, i haven't found another box yet which always contains techs and I just thought it was worth sharing for anyone in who needs some higher level disks but can't find any out of regular boxes / enemies http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

i like the monomate boxes they have landmines. they must be thinking "THIS MONOMATE IS THE MOST VALUABLE RESOURCE IN THE ENTIRE WORLD WE MUST PROTECT IT!"

the gold boxes are SO hard to find (cough) just do a quick run of the ruins you'll find one.

To the OP on which system do you play and with which character and section ID were you playing, when you found these tech disks from this gold box? I ask as I have done a run of seek my master today, using my skyly ramarl on xbox and the gold box you mentioned contained an antidote not a tech disk.

The gold boxes after the Mines boss also drop high level techs along with volt op plus mines is easier.

i'm on gc, and tried it with some of my chars (tried it with a redria, a yellowboze, and a skyly), and it always contained techs . i guess it's different for xbox then http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

On GC certain boxes always drop the same item. Some of them in forest always drop a Moon Atomizer although it does depend on the setup since those same boxes will only drop armor with a different setup. I haven't noticed any boxes that always drop techs but its possible.
