Offline/Extra Mode Players - Photon Arts

For those of us that are busy playing the offline mode for whatever reason... have you noticed the abundance of photon art discs for hunters.

Considering the PAs i've seen in various online movies and pulled off by offline npcs, seems kind of strange that there only seems to be the one same photon art for each hunter weapon available from all the stores.

The only extra PA not buyable i've managed to find was a doublesaber one that i got as an S-Rank reward for the Lv 40 Moatoob mission. S-Ranking on alot of other missions hasn't yielded any other discs.

Considering all the bullets and techs are available offline for the other jobs, isn't this abit... strange? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I'm not sure of this but I think your NPC partners will give you discs with the PAs they use occasionally, when S-Ranking a mission. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

You're correct, the npc in your party affects what Skill Disk you sometimes receive after a S rank.

Examples :

Hyuga gives saber/twin saber disks
Tonnio gives 1-h claw/dagger
Lou gives double saber
Maya gives Techs
And so on.

can't you just buy photon arts at the extra mode shop?

You can only buy a single basic photon art at the shops. Each weapon seems to have at least 2 if not 3 different basic arts.

Im dying to try and find that Spear art that Leo uses. The one where he swings it in a full 360.

You should get the one Ethan swings around 1380°, it looks much better.

hmm but if shops hold only the basic photon arts, how will people get more online?

Which is anoying as hell.

Actually Hyuuga uses Twin sabers as he levels, and Nev/Nef sensei uses dual claws later on.

Actually, a dumb question, I know what the Cast's 'PA' does, its an SUV weapon right?
A human has Photon Art, but what exactly is it?

those aren't PAs. PAs are not race specific, but weapon specific. For example, everyone starts with rising strike for saber. If you play with Hyuuga, you may eventually get gravity strike or something else. But any race can use rising strike and gravity strike as long as they can use a saber. All techs are also considered PAs and all bullets are considered PAs.

Anyways, there appears to be 3 PAs for each type of melee weapon. In online mode, theres roughly 10-12 melee weapons a HU can use (read: will be able to), so that means if they learned all 3 for every melee weapon they could use, they'd get close to that 36 tech limit.
