Hi there & welcome to our board.

did u enjoyed them?
I definately like these 2 pieces.
The PSU Rappy one is nice & funny. The color tone makes it feel quite pleasant.

The second one is also nice. Will you color it sometimes?

Very very good stuff. I myself am trying to get into vector art. I've just recently started doing some stuff. The program you used for the first image, "painter" this is the first I've heard of it. Is it a Windows program? I would very much like to play around with it sometime. Hope to see some more of your stuff here.

Painter (now in its 9th incarnation) is a raster-based art program designed to mimic real media. See the official website (http://apps.corel.com/painterix/home/index.html) for more info and the trial version. I, myself, prefer PS, but there are those who prefer the complex Painter brush engine.

Ooooon topic:
Nice coloring technique on the first one. Fer some reason, I really like those rappy feet/legs. To point out another easily overlooked detail, the sword hilt is pretty sweet, too. Slick work on the second. I would make the left eye a bit bigger, though, so she doesn't look like o.O http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif Hope to see more.

Haha, I love how the rappy looks on the first pic.

Both pics are incredibly awesome. Good job!

Could you please tell me how you got the lineart so extremely... smooth?

mangasprai
Oct 14, 2006, 05:19 PM
sure i can tell you...
those are made with pen tool.. and since the original file is like "4000 x 4000"
when resized it looks smooth.
ah its pen tools yea but a lot of different sizes http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
sometimes i ve drew them filling them, and not using the stroke mode...
i hope u can understand this http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

@rizeru: i ll explain better:
to make these image i first draw a sketch with a raster program and my tablet ( u can also draw with a pencil and scan it) an then i import the image on illustrator.
there i resize it, or i make zoom (with vector, is basically the same, u know) and i star tu use the pen tool.
pen tool offers a lot of possibilities such as stroke, brushes and fills.
sometimes i do trace the area i have to fill (the eyes for example) and i fill it so it can really have stroke variations (that with the "stroke" option are rather difficult to make") then, i trace all the draw with a 1...2...4.pt stroke
then new level and i restroke some parts at 9....12....15... pt...
then i make screnntones.
^__^
hope this is useful
see ya!

I so need to learn to work better with the pen tool. So far I've only been learning to make waves for glossy effects.
