computer craps out with more ram in..wtf?

Its the right ram...it gets the bsod and restarts whe nI try to copy dvds....but with 1 gb of ram instead of 2 it didn't yet.

Also when I had the 2gb of ram in, I kept getting the generic host problem crashing down even tho I did the service pack 2 update..Im thinking its a hardware problem but what do you guys think?
