Is that sum Comments:

-Okay, Unitarian Universalism, according to the description covers just about anything. Very revelatory!
-Protestantism, no matter how liberal generally entails acceptance of the typical Christian things (Christ, the Trinity, the Bible to some extent, etc...). Definitely didn't put any of that stuff down, so way to gogo, survey.
-Again, this one is pretty broad, but not terribly inaccurate. I sure do love me sum oatmeal, though. Rock on, Quaker Oats guy, rock on!
-Secular Humanism - Given the descriptions alone, I'd probably choose this one for myself. At least it's high up on the list.

Keerazy results:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (99%)
3. Liberal Quakers (95%)
4. Secular Humanism (94%)

Lol to the Papists at the bottom. :3 Totally went to a Catholic high school; totally am not Catholic; totally think the survey's description of Catholic beliefs does not reflect the beliefs promoted in my school (which were significantly more liberal).

Alright just to comment on my own results.

Yeah as I said before I was really surprised to find out I'm apparent a reformed jew but when I read the description it all fit me pretty well. The questioning of beliefs is considered welcome, God is formless and there are no incarnations of God, God created the natural sciences of Earth and that the story of Adam and Eve is only symbolical, Satan is symbolical, suffering only comes from Human's free will and not any otherwordly phenomenon, Reform Judiasm is pro-choice and homosexuality is a natural occurence and is nothing to shun.

Good stuff.
Alot of people got that Universitarian or whatever, cause its pretty broad like Ast said so I won't even comment on that.

I can't say so much that I'm a liberal quaker...Kinda off on that one quizzy but otherwise its on point. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If these things fit you pretty well, then why you think you'd be more Muslim? Besides this line "God is formless and there are no incarnations of God" everything goes against Muslin belief. lol

Not as far as I know. Muslims believe God is reality itself. This is from several conversations I've had with a man who I believe to be a very devout Muslim who studies his religion pretty well.

"his is an umbrella term for Protestant denominations, or churches within denominations, that view the Bible as the witness of God rather than the word of God, to be interpreted in its historical context through critical analysis."

So not a whole lot of you believe in reincarnation, huh.

Actually, I don't have any definite views about the afterlife. I'm more worried about the life I live currently and doing the best I can here, whatever comes afterward I'll deal with it then.

Funny story though. My grandma used to call me the reincarnate when I was younger. She said it was cause I knew so much stuff that most kids my age didn't.

I had a hard time with the quiz. The most accurate response for most of the answers would have been the 'other' option, but I'm sure that would have ended with some useless results. So I did the best I could with what was there.

Frankly, the idea of reincarnation makes me exhausted just thinking about it. Imagine living all those lives, over and over again, until you got it right. I'd need a Kit-Kat break or a nap or something. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Umm, but more seriously, not having been raised with the concept--and I bet most Westerners weren't--it's a hard thing for me to pick up. And since I wasn't really raised with any other strong afterlife beliefs, I still don't feel strongly either way--hell, any way--in that area. Personally, what I do believe is that people's affinities to certain beliefs are significantly influenced by what they were exposed to or encouraged to believe as young'ns. That's not to say we're bound by those things, but I think it's pretty important.

It told me what I already knew: I am 100% conservative Christian protestant. I found it interesting that it said my second through fourth went as so: Orthodox Quaker (89%), Eastern Orthodox (85%), and Roman Catholic (85%). I don't think of myself as too orthodox but I really don't find myself as a Roman Catholic either by any means.

I think you're misunderstanding what it says. Muslims don't believe God has a body, making God formless. They don't believe that Jesus was the incarnation of God, but rather a profit.

I was more refering to "The questioning of beliefs is considered welcome, God created the natural sciences of Earth and that the story of Adam and Eve is only symbolical, Satan is symbolical, suffering only comes from Human's free will and not any otherwordly phenomenon, being pro-choice and homosexuality is a natural occurence and is nothing to shun. Not beliefs associated with Muslims. I just found it kinda funny you thought you'd be more Muslim.

Definitely. My religious studies professor put this way. Your parents can give you a shirt, but it's up to you if you're going to wear that shirt or get your own shirt.

Well like I said most of my information on Islam has come from a friend of mine who is a very credible source but ya, I don't have a full understanding of the religion. I don't know Islam's view on Hell and Satan so I won't comment on that part. The first part about questioning the beliefs I know is not very Muslim but eh, what are ya gunna do? The Adam and Eve thing...Well, what I understand about the Islam belief on creation is that there was no Eve and that Adam was a single-celled self-replicating organism that eventually evolved into all the species on earth that we have today, I do believe this is a very reasonable explaination, alot more reasonable than two people living in a garden and getting kicked out cause some woman decided to eat an apple. Hence why I said I agree with them that Adam and Eve is more symbolical than anything else. I also don't know anything about Islam's view on human suffering or homosexuality and arbortion either so I won't say anything about that.

What you've heard is probably right. While doing the quiz I found most questions had a response the Islam specifically tought. Here's a few of the religion's teachings:

-God is one, the eternal. He has no reincarnations and is formless.
-Adam was created first. Eve was created from Adam's cells (ribs).
-The cause of human suffering is our God-given free will.
-Satan has an influence over mankind - Satan is not symbolical as much as some people like to think.
-The universe was created with a "big bang" roughly 18 billion years ago(oddly enough, this one wasn't on the options for the relative question).
-Hell is in a different dimension and is a place of torment. Hell is not on earth, it is not some place where the sinners can sit out and think about their mistakes.
-Homosexuality is forbidden.
-Abortion is allowed as long as it is within 3 months of conception. After three months, the fetus is fused with a soul and then abortion will equal murder. (I could be wrong on the exact time it takes for a fetus to be fused with a soul).

I'm no scholar but I do study Islam and Christianity well.

The only parts on that list that come close is Neo-Pagan, Taoist, Buddhism (list way to high, lol). The result are close but not 100% accurate. I'm an Eccletic Monist/Taoist/Neo-Pagan with some aspects of Buddhism.

Everything under number 9 means *zero* to me as my beliefs vastly conflict with nearly all of those listed under # 9..... those should all be 0%.

I consider Christianity, and other religions, to be nothing but mainstream cults.

You do realize a cult is a group of people devoted to beliefs or practices that most cultures and societies considers to be far outside the mainstream. Since Christianity is by far the number one religion worldwide, it is in no way a cult. I can only believe you have no idea what you're talking about, and/or most likely just wanting to provoke shock or anger. Your atheism is much more of a cult then most on the list.

I got Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants. I suppose I would find myself under such an umbrella term. My views on religion are really quite open-minded, and indeed, rather liberal. I suppose this stems from my assumption that I am more ignorant of the universe than I am knowledgeable of it. I tend to believe that the specific details tend to be unimportant, focusing mainly on the things that are important to Christianity:

God is in some manner responsible for the universe's existence
Jesus Christ lead a sinless life and died for it.

I have to say, Christ's sacrifice made a whole lot more sense to me when I started thinking about it in the context in which God told Abraham to sacrifice his own son. I had a lot of trouble figuring out why God would work out the rules of this game so that he would have to do that, until I considered it in that light.

well, I wouldn't be suprised. I was also raised in that religion and look at my results, at the bottom, just cuz your parents are of a certain religion doesn't mean that you'll be in it as well.
