Quoting from my Xanga post:

I haven't updated so quickly in a long time. >_>;; But, on to business!

A few times throughout the day, I check out http://news.google.com and 90% of the time, I search only for "Wii" and "Zelda".

Lately, the results for Wii have been all about the pictures snagged of the Wii Box, and the mysterious "Start Up" Disc. I would tell you more about it, but that's all I can say as I don't know anything else. <_<;;

But something interesting got me today for the result of Zelda. The Aussie, EBgames exclusive, Gamecube Twilight Princess. You can read the whole, short, article in the following link: http://www.aussie-nintendo.com/?v=news&p=6044

Now, if you don't want to read it, I'll quote the main thing I'm concerned about:

The Wii version is scheduled for launch on December 7, alongside the console, and will remain widely available. Meanwhile, both games have received an unprecendented classification rating of 'M', due to the inclusion of moderate fantasy violence.

We all knew Twilight Princess would recieve a 'T' rating. But 'M'? I've checked the EBgames website and nintendo's; they all still say RP. However, on the official Zelda site, at the bottom of the screen it shows the ratings for all the games in one single block: RP-T ( http://www.zelda.com )

Twilight Princess Wii site, http://us.wii.com/soft_loz_tp.jsp, says 'T' for Animated Blood and Fantasy Violence! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif

On the other hand, according to Target website, Twilight Princess is rated 'M'.

The plot thickens!

And I demand thoughts! :3

Discuss!

It'll be T, because it's Zelda, which I've been playing since I was... holy crap, 8? O_o

I can see why it would be a T, but not an M.

I was gonna buy this for the 'Cube but since Nintendo announced it's gonna be online-only order for the Cube, I ain't gonna bother. Really pisses me off. Also, not confirmed yet, I heard a rumor that the Virtual Console will be region locked, meaning that us UK and EU gamers won't get to play the great games that Japan and US always get when it comes to downloading them. I hate Nintendo now. I may as well defect. About the rating thing, doesn't bother me as I'm 21 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I could dig more realistic violence in my Zelda, as long as they don't betray the true Zelda feeling.

It'll probably end up being a T. Nintendo dosen't want to isolate a major part of their market (i.e. Think of the children!!)

"T" sounds right. We have never had a Zelda game with anything but an E, so it going straight to M just sounds unrealistic to me.

By the way, some gamers might be pissed by this news:

If they make it Wii-only, I will fucking scream.

However, as long as they make the GC version available in some form, I will certainly pick it up, even if I have to mess around with online fuckeries.

If Super-smash Brothers is rating T. Then this game should most likely be rating teen also.

On the official site, it's got Wii and GameCube listed as systems. I'm not too worried, to be honest...

That's strange alright. I just can't get my head around the possibility of a M rated Zelda. Next thing you know Mario will be start carrying Mratings.

Yeah, and pretty soon Sonic characters will start carrying around machine guns!

They should make 2...One with little flashy lights when it hits to keep the teen rating, and the other with decapitations and castrations and...dominations for the people that feel they have the need to see gore caused by a skinny guy in a green pointy hat.

The game has been confirmed to be rated T. Played it already as well. It's darker of course, but there isn't blood gushing out of every stab.

Let's remember that the author of that article is refering to the Austrailian version. For what most of us know, they may very well have a much more strict criteria for what earns an M rating; i.e., any violence commited by realistically rendered characters, whereas, in North America (and if I gather what I'm seeing in this thread rightly, in the UK and Europe, as well), it's T until we start seeing blood splatter.
