First promotional advert for the DBZ movies. And just the fact that Fox are making the movies scares me.

Theres going to be 3 movies following the japanese sagas (thats Furiza Saga, Cell Saga and Buu saga, the dubs split the 3 into seperate smaller sagas). No cast have been announced.

Well, im not looking forward to a proper DBZ movie. Ive seen pictures of a japanese one, and the guy playing Gokus hair just scares me. God knows how there going to squeeze those longs sagas into anything comfortably watchable and the script will probably be as bad as the dubbed anime (like the way they forget to menton Krillan was a monk who used to shave his hair off cause they believed hair blocked your Ki power, so they have that shitty joke in the Namek saga where he says if he could be that powerful he would be able to grow hair). Not a flim im looking forward to seeing.

Ok, whos up for naming a fantasy cast for the film then?

Phuk that sheit! They should get the guys that made Spider Man or X-Men to do it. I still think Todd McFarlen should have designed the toys. Just think how bad ass hey would look...

This DBZ movie better be good or im gonna kill someone, watch there gonna get Brad Pitt to play Goku and Leanardo DeCraprio to play Gohan.

They are making the movie, but that's not an actual poster for it. It's just a test pic, a mock up.

Since we all know this movie is going to be a joke, we might as well hope its a funny one...

All I have to say is...

Goku: should be played as David Hasselhoff
Gohan: Tim Burton and or Patrick Stewart (trade offs?)
Cell: Kevin Spacey
Piccolo: Johnny Depp
Vegeta: Jaquin Pheonix
Freiza: Mel Gibson
Satan: Robin Williams
I would also like to see cameos from jacky chan, adam sandler and shaq. Also William Shatner should have a very large role in this film.

Wow! I didn't know you all could see into the future!

Seriously though. At least wait to see some actual shots or something before condemning the movie. Just try thinking how many movies you all ever said would suck, but turned out being good. I'm not gonna say any specific ones cause I'm being general about it.

Akira Toriyama's idea has been milked so much that it's all shriveled and lame now. The Dragonball manga were funny, but I think that's about the extent of it... If FOX can breathe new life into it, more power to them, but let's just say I'm skeptical.

I don't like DBZ much, but I do like the characters, and the premise is somewhat cool. It gets extremely lagged and stalls so much in the TV show.. ARGH! Any bad guy with no ability to talk could easily run all over these guys.

I used to have a credit card with Vegeta on it. I have a wallscroll of him over my monitor, and a trading card, and a toy. Phear the angsty Saiyan!

They have to approach this movie like the first Mortal Kombat movie. Brief introductions, keep the character count down (we don't need Baba), focus on the action, use convincing martial arts and moves. A good amount of each fight should take place in the air. They'll need some innovative technology to pull that off realistically.

I don't think Fox can do ANY of these things.

Actually all those special fx you just mentioned have all been done already by a chinese movie studio.
Like I said in the last DBZ movie thread, "check out Storm Riders".

This idea was doomed from the start. I remember several years ago when some other Hollywood dumbasses were planning on making a live action Akira movie, with western actors. Why? Why BOTHER?! I feel this feeling 10 times over with the introduction of this crap, and the fact that it's coming from Fox really kills any hope of it being the least bit decent. OHHH, how I hate Fox with a passion.
Whatever, they'll make a huge profit no matter how bad the movie is, with all the kids these days into this complete and utter crap ten year old show that no one cares about anymore... ANIME, *choke*
Man, lucky for me there're so many good fansub groups around, or I might still be watching the garbage they show on TV.

The director behind the movie 'Blade' has recentaly aquired rights to make a live action 'Akira' film, but it probably wont be read untill 2005.

Oh man, you're kidding. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Oh well, it has a slim chance of being... SOMEwhat good... I guess. I find it funny though how 10+ year old anime is finally making waves here. Jeez. Lupin III is finally gonna be shown on US TV I believe. About TIME.
