Ok now its not even letting me get past the checking for new patch files part cuz it just stops there... so I cant keep testing out new setups but!!!

Ok so the game runs mint, I have no slowdown, I run good, enemies run fine etc. My problem lies in everyone else running around, every runs sluggish... run stop run stop -_-;;; What the duece? I want to try the frame skip, and I the motion thing set to CPU but it seems that when I change those it unselects the high/low end graphics sections so Iono wtf all that is.

As far as comp goes I know its fine cuz Im tested at 100 fps for Doom 3 max settings

3.2 ghz
1g ram
geforce 6800 go

Not sure, but im hoping thats not how the game is all the time, because ive seen the same thing on japanese TEST servers, as well as the beta which arent nearly as crowded. People skip around instead of moving smoothly. Im slowly regreting my psu purchase now..I hope things change drastically within the next few days.

Go to custom. Max everything, but put the frame skip to 2 or 3. Everything will move much much quicker. The reason it deselects the high/med/low option is because you are now using custom settings (high generally probably has frame skip of 0, and when you change it you arent using "high" settings.)

That's not a graphical setting. That's the result of slowed or delayed information from the game server. It happens when:
1) Your connectivity is slow/not properly configured
2) Your network topology is complex, slowing throughput
3) You have security software installed that may be slowing the system
4) There is heavy server load, and there's nothing really to be done on your end.

Check the connectivity information from the Official FAQ (http://phantasystaruniverse.com/support_troubleshoot.php) to ensure you are connected as seemlessly as possible.

The issue is server related.

The code seems rather sloppy for player --> client relation.

I hope it gets fixed soon.

Good. So I'm not the only one? If you are able to fix it by changing one of your system settings, please post what you did. Not too many people seem to be experiencing this problem so maybe it isn't a server problem. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I havent been able to fix it.. I lowered all settings such that a uber noob computer could easily run it much less my $3000 Alienware... I'm gonna try a different router and make sure firewall ports and stuff isnt messing with things.. but as is I cant figure it out. As uhawww said I dont think its graphical as I run everything else smooth as hell.

Yeah. Offline I run everything at the highest settings at 60 fps (according to Fraps). No problems. It just happens when I'm online...

The issue is likely occurring for everyone.

I ask people I run into and they concur, character movement[for other players] just isn't fluid. They skip and warp.

The issue isn't so bad on the field, but within lobbies its often warps/skips of multiple meters.

I assume it will be treated after tonights scheduled maintenance.

although it sucks when 2 of my friends say everyone runs smooth as can be... XD

Here's video showing what we're talking about -

I can run the offline game at the highest resolution with all the settings turned on at 60 fps (according to Fraps) with no slowdown or anything. The problem only occurs when I go online. As you can see, my character is running smoothly. It's everyone else that's jumpy.

Grizzy - Are they located in the same area as you? I'm hoping that it's just a regional thing and not my connection itself. I've tried a direct connection and every other possible network configuration imaginable. This is so annoying!

Its packet Loss most obviously, that can be either :

A) Your pc cant handle the message requests

B) The server is complete crap

C) Your firewalled either on your router or via software

D) Theres a bad connection somewhere on route to your PC.

My guess Mainly is D as you have stated some people are getting it while their friends arnt. Just sounds to me like theres a bad conection somewhere on route to you OR youve got your router firewalled.

I've been playing Guild Wars, Counterstrike, and Battlefield 2 without any problems so I'm pretty sure I'm connected to the Internet just fine. I also tried connecting directly to the Internet without a router and I'm getting the same results.

Myself and another are having the exact same issue. I am looking for troubleshooting ideas now as I have tried everything that is obvious.
