Rare red slime

I was wondering, you know how you do the pipe trick to see rare monsters? Well, for the slimes in caves, can you just keep hitting them (to make them split) so that a red one will come out? Or do you have to use the pipe trick to get one to appear. Thanks

It's telepiping in and out of a room with unharmed enemies that also have rare counterparts(such as rappies).

Do Fake in Yellow, go into a room with abunch of rappies, if none are rare, don't hurt any of the rappies, telepipe back to P2, pipe back down, and since rare enemies are random, it might give you a rare rappy in place of one of the normal ones.

You can do this for pretty much any monster type that has a rare counterpart(Hildeblue, etc).
