favourite Megaman series

select your favourite Megaman series, and tell us why?

My favourite Megaman series is Megaman X. I've been a fan of the series ever since I played the first installment, and I wished I could play as Zero. finally, when X3 came out, I got the oppertunity, and I've beaten 1, 4, and 5. I've almost beaten 6, but Gate is impossible.

Of those I've played, my favourite is Classic... I grew up playing Megaman 2 (my favourite Megaman game of any series) on the NES, heh. Both X and Battle Network are nice though, didn't like Zero too much.

actually, I like the Zero series more than the Battle Network series. I have BN3, 4, and 5. I'm still looking for a copy of Zero 2.

I voted Legends.

A different kind of Megaman game of course, but superjumping to the top of buildings then boot dashing off was some good stuff.

So was kicking and jump-throwing pigs around.

And then you have your donating money after a city is destroyed and seeing the consequences of your actions, both good and bad.

Some witty writing, secret item hunts, money being a major part of the game, gameshow minigames, etc.

Also, those Servbots opened up a hamburger place. Gotta love that.

Me too, Megaman 2 is by FAR the best! Half of the fact it's so good is 'cause of the music! Every single level song is so good, I love 'em! And it's like...you REALLY needed skill to win the NES games =)

Im torn between the X and Zero series i like them about equally but Zero got my vote simply cuz Sigma isnt in everyone of them XD

well, in the original series, Wily was in every one. Sigma reappearing was nothing new.

True but the original series didnt grab me as much i mean atleast Sigma had a light sabre instead of being an old guy with awful hair.

it is true Sigma was cooler, but Wily built huge skull themed robot flying things, and stuff like that. and Sigma only had a beam saber once, right?

Well if i remember correctly most of the time his first form would have a sabre or some other stabby thing.

Megaman classic for sure. Megaman X and all the others felt alien to me because I played the classic first one when I was 4.

Honestly, all of the MegaMan series have been damn awesome. But, if I really had to choose, I'd go with my top 3:

MegaMan Battle Network
MegaMan X
MegaMan Z/X

ZX counts as the Z series, if you never knew. And yes, it does.

ZX does NOT count as a Zero game. they have different gameplay.

Odd, all the metals you use are based off of Zero characters.

ZX is a continuation, like Zero was a cont to X, and X was a cont to Classic.

But my favorite is Battle Network, because it brings the nostalgia of classic with some decent card-game battles. And the werewolf ability in BN6 rocked hardcore.

Ok, this is a very mixed subject for me. I liked the MBN series until the third one. They stretched way to far, copying the pokemon games on their "versions" like red and blue. Also, six games is way to many. I like the X ones the most because they keep loyal to the classic side scrolling action.

MegaMan ZX counted in my opinion. Same graphics, same characters (sort of), same artwork. Game elements were different, and so was the story, but I still say it counts.

It's like how Ryusei no Rockman counts as Battle Network.
