Brand comparison
------

This guide shows you the difference between the major manufacturers.

There's 3 major manufacturers on PSU: GRM, Yohmei Corp and Tenora Works. There's also Kubara products, but it's simply a "common" manufacturer for items with unknown manufacturers.

The charts below shows a simplified version of the difference between the weapons and armours they make.

Weapons

Armours
http://xs109.xs.to/xs109/06465/armrcomp.gif

Pretty much self-explaining.
There's a more "detailed" chart of weapons(no wands/rods) at the end of this post.

But then, it also happens to be so that not all manufacturers makes all weapons. Check out the chart below.

One dot means that the manufacturer makes weapons of that type. Two dots means that the manufacturer even makes 8* and maybe 9* weapons of that type.

And lastly, there's grinding.

GRM gains mostly from the first and last two(9,10) grinds.

Yohmei gains alot up to the fifth grind, the rest are'nt that good.

Tenora Works just gets better and better each grind.

Kubara stuff has pretty good average growth, but gains most from its second and last grind.

A few recommendations on where to stop grinding your weapons from the different manufacturers:

Numbers are just grinds.

GRM: 1, 4, or 10
Yohmei: 5
Tenora Works: 10
Kubara: 2, 7 or 10

There's also the look of the weapons.
It's actually up to your personal taste, but I'm sure that most of the people agree that Yohmei > the other manufacturers at looks.

Here's the more detailed comparison chart. Numbers may not be 100% accurate.

Lots of info taken from JP PSU wiki. Thank those guys.

Still, nice work on the translation, this is very useful.

Kubara's grenade launcher is only 35% of Tenora's? Yikes - it better be a crazy grounded weapon...

or at least look like this...Yes - complete with size compared to those in picture http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Tenora Works just gets better and better each grind.
If by better and better you mean they get absolute crap from +1 through +8, and then as much as they got from +1 through +8 from the last two grinds, then yes, it just gets better and better.

Grinding gets shittier the higher grade/ * the weapon is.

But it's true, I never wrote how crappy the grinding was from beginning for the tenora weapons.

It goes like ==++==+=++ Where "=" is when grind boost stays same and "+" is when it increases.

just curious here....but in a straight out comparison of the 4 major manufactorers, when there are more then one choice. Is youmei always going to be the superior overall product or will there be cases where another company will edge it out dispite the grinding bonus?

Obviously this question doesn't apply for weapons only made by one company.

It differs, depending on what weapon, grinds and other things. There's a thread on the official PSU boards about the +10 grinded weapons.

Are Kubara statistics reliable at all? Being just a collective label and not an actual manufacturer I would think those weapons would have a tendency to be... all over the place. In many ways.

Seems correct sofar, there's not that many "misc" kubara items. The other ones gotten by replacing wood seems to follow the chart.

Hmmm, etlitch, you happen to have the link to the thread on the +10 grinded weapons? I've been searching and haven't been successful http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
