There are two restaurants in Central California that upon leaving, I wonder why I would eat anywhere else--

Yoshino's, in Fresno
The Branding Iron, in Merced

There's also the matter of the best French Dip I have ever had the pleasure of eating, which was made at a little restaurant named The Red Steer, also in Merced, that unfortunately, closed for business several years ago. Sooner or later, I will try the Korean place that replaced it.

being that i'm a chef and certified culinarian with the ACF, i can't pick a FAVORITE food... but i can pick a recent favorite. =3

not to toot my own horn, but i made a maple/butter pecan pie that was fit for... well, me. it was foodgasmic. also, my bf made me sweet and sour chicken recently that was better than any restaurant chinese food i'd ever had. yay for food!

my favorite REAL food is mushroom and black olive pizza.
but my hands-down favorite junk food are the 'experimental' cakes or cupcakes that i make when I get bored. a couple are: lemon blueberry-filled cake, white chocolate cherry cake, chai tea cake, white chocolate and fudge cake.... etc. etc.

A certain type of salad my mom makes. She's a great cook. She makes the salad with glacier lettuce, shredded old cheddar cheese, quartered hard-boiled eggs, chicken, and a KILLER dressing...

Curse you bastards, you've made me hungry now...>>

Places I remember around the country:

-The Barking Clam, Boston
1st Best Crabcakes, way overpriced though
-Fiddlers Crab House and Oyster Bar, Savannah
2nd Best Crabcakes, Great Seafood Pasta. However, $9 for two crapcakes? OMGWTF.
-Emiliano's, Gainesville:
Awesome Everything. Not as overpriced.
-___ (Gainesville, Tampa, etc) Ale House, Many Cities:
Good Burgers, Excellent Onion Rings. Affordable.
-The Capital Grill, Tampa:
Best Filet Mignon, ever. Not Affordable.
