If you've been thinking about getting into C-Mode, well, here's your opportunity.

Pros, amateurs, or new players; it doesn't matter. Show up and we'll play and have fun.

Wait a sec... I've always sucked with timezones... What time would that be Central timezone? Cuz' I'm planning on dropping in tonight.

According to the map, 9 PM PST is 11 CST.

Rune might not be there because of family priorities, but I'll definitely be there in Lobby 10.

Cool idea! I plan to check it out tonight (friday 29 november). The reason I'm posting though is I was struck by a few things....

Time - would like to see an internet time clock on site (like on the banner) and then match ups could be posted according to that and people could just look on the page and see what time it is. I understand that internet time is confusing but would like to see this site work with it....

Guides - there is no explanation on the map guides (i.e Legend) but even better than a legend might be an overview....

These are just some suggestions of course...

Seriously, I had a really, really fun time: good teams, no bickering. Awesome all around.

We had a C4 team goin'. We had a few people start on C-Mode and ran through C1 with no problems. We had a few people improve their C1 times. After C1, we jumped right into C2. And I'm happy to say we were able to get a 45 minute time on the first try--two minutes under S-Rank time.

Thanks to PSOW members RuneLateralus, Spy, SnAPPUrU-nyan-ko, and Toyzferall for dropping in. Sorry if I played with anybody and didn't get your PSOW name. Post here if you showed up!

I hope to see everyone again next week. I still have a RAmarl that needs to start C-Mode, so I'm more than willing to help a new C-Mode player start their fun.

Let me know your character names if you're planning on playing with us in the future or played with us tonight; that way, I'll know who everyone is. >.>

I decided to come out of hiding and actually post... =)

C-Mode was great tonight. Snapple, Spy, and I were finally able to beat C4 and get our Ra-ZAN ranks with a little help from Elixer. ^_^

Since C5 and C6 are still not up we tried to better our C1 times but it was to no avail due to stupid mistakes by Spy and myself. >_<

So now you know who Zoe is, pixelate. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

I plan to be there for the next one. I have only ever tried C-mode offline and my friends were not thrilled with it. But I loved it. Look for one of my characters (Sim, Jander, or Boomer) on Friday I don't know which I am going to use. In fact that was a ? I had which would be best they are HUcast, FOmar, RAcast which one would be my best bet in being usefull? Plus I don't have a keyboard want to say that now so there are no questions later about it. I follow directions well. lol anyways I look forward to doing this ...

I'm DEFINITELY gonna be there next week... Me and two good friends went around for no less than two hours making C mode games, trying to get a semi-decent time on C-freakin'-1, only to get a n00b each time or have something horribly wrong happen resulting in pretty sad times. Frustrating would be a sick understatement.
So, keep an eye out for Ghaleon the FOmar, unless I decide to bring along Kirika the RAmarl or Chloe the HUcaseal. I've gotten two S-ranks on DC, so I'm no beginner. Safe to say that my 2 comrades will show as well, likely Misato-san or 01, and Deus Irae. I'm Skyly which seems to ROCK for C1, and on BB so everything is nice and speedy in-game when I make.
Man, I'm desperate for sub-11 minute times on this damn C1. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Looking forward to it! And real quick...

In fact that was a ? I had which would be best they are HUcast, FOmar, RAcast which one would be my best bet in being usefull?
IMO, all those classes should kick a great amount of booma to delsaber ass, at least eventually. HUcast is arguably THE best class for starting out, especially C1... They're made even BETTER in this version 'cause they can use bombs at low levels. Freeze bombs on hildebears = OWNAGE. Even mid way and late in C mode, they rock with their high HP and ATP, so you really cannot go wrong with them, IMO.
FOmar, well... Their ATP owns all other forces, so getting a gun or even a saber with some good bonuses should do some damage, as well as their magic. And believe me: Later on, resta Lv3 becomes a BLESSING from the Naka, as does shifta and deband to a lesser extent. Seriously, we almost NEEDED a FO for a few of the later C's.
And RAcast should also do fine... Just be patient at first, as all RA do pretty lame amounts of damage early. Try to get a good saber in C1. Bombs make up for their relatively low damage early on though.

This post is longer than I expected it to be. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I'm gonna beat some C next week or DIE TRYING.

I've never done c-mode b-4, if I show up on Friday...will I still be welcome or at least be of some use? I'm a FOnewm, but since I'm new to C-Mode, I just don't want to frustrate the vets! LoL!

CajunSamurai
Dec 5, 2002, 11:46 AM
No, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. Long as you're a skilled player, you shouldn't have any trouble; just make sure you follow the others. Perhaps choosing a specific character to follow beforehand might be best.
As a FO, your best bet is collecting items, definitely. FO's spells are a bit limited due to their TP and lack of fluids at times, so I'd recommend spells only when you have plenty of fluids, or when you really need to use them. If you focus on collecting items for the party, you'll save the others the effort of running over and grabbing items, busting open boxes, etc. And, it's best to drop items right next to a door.
And be sure to check out Mamak's awesome C mode walkthroughs, they helped us a whole lot back when we were starting. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Man, I'm excited about C mode this Friday. But uh, sure doesn't seem like too many are interested, judging by the fact that so few have posted in this thread. :/ Me an' my two compadres will be there for sure, however, and we're gonna get some S-rank times. I'm really excited. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_quickdraw.gif

Well, most likely it happens like this:

Everyone shows up at Antares 8, lobby 10. Then we find out how many teams of 4 we can get going for a certain stage. And we play.

I'll be there to help out new players get their feet wet with C-1.

I will be there like I said before, and I have done some CMode but in offline only. And my friends got bored with it. So I am looking forward to playing tonight. Just hope people are understanding of new players to CMode...

Hi, hi, everyone.

Yup. Tonight's C-Mode meeting is still on. It's at 9 PM PST on Antares 8, Lobby 10 (rougly one hour from when I post this).

Again, don't worry if you've never done C-Mode before. After a few runs of Stage 1, usually everyone has a good sense of how to play C-Mode.

I'll be on just to help out new players get through Stage 1 and Stage 2. Here are the walk-throughs of those:

Stage 1 (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=285)

Stage 2 (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=286)

I am VERY, VERY, VERY happy with the turnout tonight! All kinds of people showed up! We may need an actual block next time, because I don't think Lobby 10 could handle us.

Tonight put me in a good mood. ^_^

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to play with everyone, but we put some new C-Mode ranks on a lot of characters tonight. Whee!

Thanks to everyone! Till next week.

Man what a blast, getting to play cmode was great. And so was meeting all the cool people. I plan to be there every Friday. Only got my C1 ranking tonight since I had to run a friend to work. But next week I hope to get thru C2 & C3 http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Oh what fun. It was really great to meet all of you. Until next week have fun. Watch for me I do try and play online some what during the week.

Yeah, that was some great fun playing with you guys. Sure beats playing with some random people in Vega who don't have the slightest clue how to play. We got a couple S-Rank times and then missed it on C3 by 1 minute. >_<

I second the vote for a separate block. I got dumped back into Lobby 1 twice after a match since 10 was full.

And for the love of God, when is C5-9 going to be available? I need my S-Rank Twin Saber! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

That was SO damn fun. (I was Chloe the HUcaseal btw, the somewhat talkative no-keyboarder)
Got past C4 with 2 s-rank times. The other ones were just a little off, but I think the s-rank times even it out. Had a lot of fun, and I hope the newbies I played with learned a thing 'er two. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Practice, practice, practice, and study/print maps, and you'll do fine.
And man, BS about C5-6 being up. >_< I was playing since 11:30 and I was ready to play it at 5. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif Oh well, gives me time to improve my time and help friends get up to my rank.

Count me in as a C mode regular. I swear, C mode is the most fun I've ever had in an online game. When we're all on fire during a C game, it's a feeling that I just don't get from any other mode in PSO, much less other online RPG.

I second (or third, or fourth) having a seperate block, rather than one lobby. Often times it was jam packed, but we definitely got some players from lobby 1 which was fine.
Maybe block 9 would be best?

And lastly, those pictures turned out great. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

A quick heads up for everyone planning on attending our Friday night C-Mode meetings.

Because we so quickly filled up lobby 10 last night and some people couldn't get in, we'll be moving the meeting place to Antares 6. If lobby 1 fills up, go to lobby 2, and so on. The times will stay the same:

Fridays on Antares 6 at 9 PM PST, Midnight EST, Internet time: 250

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's because we're growing. ^_^ I hope even more people can make it.

I'll probably be there tonight, maybe a little late, depending on how long I play DDR. But I'm new to challenge mode, so I may need a few pointers here and there. I'll be on as my HUcast, Special K. He's very short. And no, I'm not ripping off the other Special K on these boards, that's been my SN for several years now.

well the turnout didnt seem as good as last week, but Cmode night ROCKED.

we got some serious s-rank times (still cant get c1 under 12 min though!! lol, im at about 12.13 now...!)

sorry we had to exclude some folks from our games, but we had 4 lined up and ready to go. please come back and we'll Challenge with you next week!

I think moving the meeting place Antares 6 mixed up people a tad.

I noticed the teams last week were much better than the week before.

See y'all on Friday!

CajunSamurai
Dec 21, 2002, 03:46 AM
The turnout this week wasn't too hot, huh? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif I wonder why that is... Got wicked times on C5 and 6 anyway, so I'm happy. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I think C mode needs to be hyped up a little or something, a lot of people are really missing out. And it's so much easier this time around! It can't be my imagination, because we're getting way under the s-rank times every time on our first try in over a year, we're still rusty and stalling at a few points. Unless Sonic Team has changed the required total time to like, 6 hours or something, it's really so much easier this time.
So I don't think the difficulty is anything to be afraid of. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
Hell, I'll guide newbies and only newbies through C mode all night next week if that's what it takes to get a few more players goin'. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I think once people found out that they couldn't finish C-Mode online for their S-Rank weapons, they figured why bother right now. Whenever C7-9 get on the ships, the crowds will get bigger. Everyone wants their weapons, damn it! I still have characters to get up to C6, so I don't mind waiting. I have a lot of work to do as is. I think all my times on all my characters are under S-Rank time so far. Everyone's gettin' better!

But thank you to the regulars that show up and blast through games each week. If the crowds do get big, I hope you're all willing to help the new players that drop in. Not like you don't already do that, though.

Umm, I'm interested in playing C-mode, if I can. I've only stumbled through the first area with my pathetic little brothers (never made it past the dragon, unfortunately), but I'd like to get started. I can get on this Friday, I think. Is this meeting still going on every week?

I think I'll be putting the weekly C-Mode meeting on hold until all the stages are up and S-Ranks are obtainable. Without S-Ranks, once people hit Bu-Zan, they stop showing up. And the number of people coming each week have dipped slowly as each week passes. Add in the new corruption possibilities and you get the picture.

Keep an eye out for news on the stages. Once they're up, I'll get this going again. Until then, kick back on Antares 08 and have fun!
