Heh, sweet, rare common items

Some "common" weapons can be tekkered into 9-stared weapons.

Vulcans, Arms, Calibur, Gungir, Laser, to name a few. But only curtain effects can make them into 9-stars, Gush, Geist, Beserk, Tempest, Blizzard, Burning, and King's. Sabers, Handguns, and none of the Force weapons can become 9-stars however, since their base weapon has 0-stars to begin with and Rod/Wand types never get more than 4 at their max type.

Any natural 5star weapon, such has Arms, Vulcans, Laser, Calibur, Gungir, and Diska have the capacity to become Yellow 9stars when they possess a 4star ability such as Gush, Geist, Blizzard, Tempest, Burning, Devil, Hell, Arrest, Chaos, King's, or Havoc. I'm pretty sure this is the complete list of 5star base weapons and 4star abilities, I hope this helps, b/c I've got loads of Yellow 9star commons and like most of them. Rayguns, Gladius, and Force commons are never Yellow 9stars, b/c their base weapon rarity is less than 5. Mostly I look for Gush, Geist, Blizzard, or Arrest in weapons; followed by Devil or Hell.

Gush- recovers 17% of enemy health
Geist- recovers I think 15% of enemy TP
Arrest- paralyzes enemies
Blizzard- freezes enemies
Hell- instant kill
Demon- reduces enemy health to 1/4
*the other abilities are not as useful in my opinion, but aren't bad
