Get the frak out of Universe 1 a.k.a. home of "DumbTard Village" and
"Hacker Land"; 2) Don't accept free 6-12 star items/weps from strangers,
3) don't use player shops on Uni 1, and 4) stay way from any one named "InFaMous" "NuGZ" or "Broomop". 5) Hunt for legit items with legit players. it's that easy.

Except that it wouldn't be hacking XBox. The XBox is simply the conduit to Microsoft, and as we all know, Microsoft has a horrible track record with OS security. Whats to say the XBox OS or that of thier servers is any better than Windows?

Player rooms are hosted on thier own server, they are not unique to any one universe.

All I was saying is that I believe it would be more difficult to hack the 360, not that it was impossible.

There is currently no major interest to hack the 360. It wouldnt be difficult, but 70-85% play on Ps2/pc why mess with the 360 at this time. It will come soon, but only after they are content with obliterating the economy on Ps2/PC.

Wasn't the point of server side saves to reduce the damage done by these types of player? I'm not so naive to think that there won't be any cheating but I gotta think Sega would have a pretty easy time tracking down the offenders and removing "Duped items".

As for the topic, there will be hackers on any online game, on any platform, it's just a matter of not participating, reporting it, and supporting SEGA. Honestly, if far more people played the game, like the level of WoW, you would see hackers dissapear far more quickly and such. But let's be honest, this isn't a huge game, and it may never be.

I never got to see how bad duping was on PSO. But I played offline, and I admit that I duped using that glitch with the "Tekker Lady". Since I played offline with my friends, no one cared. I didn't dupe materials for my main character though. Mostly copied a rare when one of us found it so we could all use it. Since I haven't heard of a duplicating glitch, it has to be hacking.
But if we ignore it, it won't hurt us right? Lets just stick to our server 15...

If you see a Level 1 mag with 50 to 100 6-12 Star items/weapons in a shop for 99,999,999 meseta each, or Level 10 character whipping out 6-12 Star rares with a grind of 8 (like 30 of the same wep all withg a Grind of 5-8).

Simple soulution. get their ID number. Report them to Sega. Banned account FTW.

Trouble is, hackers aren't usually this conspicuous. You have to catch em, most of the time. At least now they aren't too obvious, except when broomup posted a hacking video on myspace. Moron.

Not to flame, but please dont make assumptions. Some are hacks, most of the hacks actually dont do much, and some are just HUGE glitches being exploited. Check the cheating forum for more information.

Ah, It's quite alright. I really don't know a whole lot about the hacking process and so forth. I imagine the PC version is easier to glitch than the ps2, however. The Xbox might be a tad harder, but again, I don't know. And i'll be sure to check there.

Ummm, the JP servers had some issues early on that caused a rollback. I'm not 100% sure what the details are, but I recall one of the JP players mentioning something about an exploit in that regard...

As to Seph, who's decided to change all its posts to a single, very unfunny, one liner...the best part of that Seph/Ryoki flame bout was the post where Seph tries to insinuate that Ryoki is gay...by saying that Seph is. It made me lawl all over myself.

They can run backup discs, code that only MS allows to run. The minute you change the code to exploit or modify, the checksums are screwed and 360 won't play the disc.

There's always a better hacker out there somewhere. It's simply a matter of time till they decide to put the effort forth to hack the console. The ONLY things Microsoft can do is try to delay it or make it a big enough hinderence that the hacker decides it's not worth the effort in the first place. But to say it can't be hacked period is absolutely absurd.
