Axes, Story mode, and other questions

Okay, first question. Are axes good, and if so, how do you getone offline, and how much? Second, Is the chapter where you have to go underground with the scientist like Molatoov the abandonded city, is it difficult and should I use my pike, sword, fists, or rifle? Third, where can you get Kubara wood? I need it for a synthesis and does anyone know an easy synthesis weapon that a level 0 pete can do?

don't think there are axes offline
All those sound like good weapons
not sure offline
every weapon is easy offline since you can save first and reset game if fails

Spear is an awesome weapon for the abandoned city mission. Great strength and speed without having to get *too* close.

I think you get it for getting an S rank on Absolute Zero, a free mission that becomes available after you complete Chapter 11...
