PSU-XBox 360: Retry on synthesis?

I'm currently doing the glitch where you turn off your Xbox 360 when you find out you failed the synthesis, and cancelling the synthesis.
Right now I'm trying again on my Vahra Claws, but I'm wondering if they fixed the glitch?
Someone told me they did, and I'm wondering if I'm wasting money on retrying by gathering all of my synth items again?

Shouldn't this be in the cheater's forum? It's basically telling people how to exploit a flaw in the system. >.>

All the cheat does is letting you keep the board if you fail. It's hardly as gamebreaking as the 100% synth cheat that was reported shortly after launch. You still need to raise a PM to proper levels to synth high-* items properly.

I don't know why the mod took out my suggested method to help with synths. But he should have deleted the whole post, so it didn't look like I was actually encouraging the guy to exploit (which is what it looks like with my post all edited up).
