iPod Trouble

im having trouble with my iPod see i was downloading some songs &when i go to redeem my card it tells me they need a Apple ID.

SO yea i go to get an Apple ID but they ABSOLUTELY 100% need my credit card information &home address.

W.T.F.

if its a prepaid card why do they need my personal information??

not only that the instructions on the bcak of the card tells you nothing of this happening.

this is really buggning me did anyone else have this problem??

You don't appear to need to fill in a credit card, unless that comes later.

Ah, well, your Apple ID basically allows you to shop from the store and etc. easily. Also, iTunes may want you to purchase some more music later, and they might want your info on-hand.

However, I have absolutely no idea why they would want your information when using a card. Perhaps there is something that you are missing? Doesn't seem as if they should ask for you to register when using a pre-paid card.

It is meant to be a way to instantly download the songs you want...so all you would have to do is the sign in process and not have to type your entire card number over and over again.

as for the credit card i dont have one...
so what exactly do i put in?

iTunes says you must be 13 years or older to purchase music.
did anyone have this kind of trouble before??

More specifically than the address where you live, it wants the billing address of your credit card. It's a basic method for verifying that the card isn't stolen or randomly generated.

Also, don't be deceived so easily by the offer of "Free Songs". The only reason why the songs are offered free, is because they're cheap to begin with, their sales are essentially 100% profit, and they figure that if they can rope you into registering a full account that may lead you to buy songs when you've run out of free downloads, then it's worth baiting you with a few "free" songs. Of course, if they don't obtain your credit card information when you register the account, then there's not so much potential that you'll come back and spend money, is there?

they also say something about a AOL ID &it tells you to use your AIM sn i put it in &it rejects it. (//_<)

Are you too young to get a credit card? Because that would be an easy fix, if you can't get it any way, example begging your parents, then I do believe you just got ripped.
If it only there was some type of p2p program that allowed you to download music without hassle..

im too young to own a credit card, lol, my mom doesnt give info like that on the internet but yea...i may me screwed now ='[

not only that but the other way i tried to use my AOL ID &it didnt work
something about how it NEVER exists...

I got an Ipod Nano for christmas too, suspiciously i installed a program on my laptop for my iPod and when i put my iPod on the usb cable to the laptop it said copying music to iPod, so i dislead the iPod from the laptop and had 100 music on it which were all the ones from laptop.. so i was really confused. the computer doesnt even recognize the iPod anymore, neither does iTunes.
