How long do you think PSOW will last?

It's just an endless grind fest of whine, whine, whine. I've been using it to relax and unwind from my more content filled forums, but I've been slowly but surely paying less attention to the daily monotony of beating the same damn dead horse over and over.

My suggestion to you is to just ignore the whiners and complainers and just focus on the threads that have educated thought and have nice people who aren't little whiners. Only focus on the people that are your friends and/or have something intelligent to say other than "PSU wil dye becuz ther r no updats nemor!!!11one"

PSOW will probably be around as long as someone is still playing PSO/PSU. PSOW was already more than a year old when I joined. I was here back in 2003... i've just forgot the PW to the email I had and the account PW so I made a new one when I got PSU. PSOW isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Ive been in a member in PSOW since 2001 , and I hope PSOW will get bigger and stronger, and about whining...

FORUM is a way to write what they are thinking (of course whining involves in that) but from whine comes annoyed people from whine and from annoyed people from whine comes people that will actually be immune to the whine, like me.
I read whining/complaining/jadajadajadajadaing/ alot and all I say is OK.

PSOW isn't one of those places that will die very easily.

GameSpy backing aside, the forums are pretty active - not as active as in the Golden Age of PSOW, but still pretty active. It'll be up, probably until PSU goes down, if not a long while after - especially if more Phantasy Star projects (online or otherwise) come along... However likely that may be.

It's not entirely surprising to see a lack of intellect when it comes to most threads. The game itself doesn't exactly require much for discussion.

PSOW will be around for as long as there is a group of people still wanting to spam to their friends. Just like any MMO fansite.

I for one welcome the calming tranquillity that will take place when all the PSO/PSU players run off into the streets to talk/play/rant about the next latest and greatest thingy. And the site will become calm and happy.

There's always the whiners or complainers about various "this and that"s, though overall it's different people finding different things they don't like. I wouldn't say it's a recent problem that's causing downgrade within the site, because it's always been around anyways.

The site could be up at 2010 and beyond but it'd still have whiners or complainers. Usually something that's been as traffic stable and popular as this will die out only when there's a mass technical or backing difficulty, or exodus of staff support.

Alternatively, the boards may only last as long as Phantasy Star games continue to be released and supported by ST. It's just as possible, though, that the community would take multiple years to disperse even with a discontinued franchise.

Seriously, though, even if Sega and ST were to dump the franchise completely, I'm sure we would find something new to focus on. That's a doubtful scenario, however, and I think we'll be seeing more Phantasy Star releases down the road.

PSOW has been around for about 6 years now and is still going strong... I've been a member of PSOW since 2003, and the place still seems to show no signs of going belly up. Granted, activity has gone down, and old faces seem to have left (Mr. Rubbish, BOC... /weep) but the golden oldies are still here. Kodiax still owns, and Abdur's postcount continues its quest to block out the sun. To name but two.
