I wondered if they were ever gonna finish it. As a huge Streets of Rage fan (especially 2) this is certainly badass.

They just don't make em like they used to. :/

Eh, honestly it just looks like Streets of Rage 2 to me. I wouldn't say that's a bad thing, but from a "Remake" I would certainly expect more. Something on the level of, say, modern 2D games. But ah well. Gameplay is what matters most, and as long as it's fun - I'll enjoy it.

Question though - what is the legal status of this project? I would assume that Sega has been contacted and given their express permission to allow this remake correct? If not - you might want to get on that asap because the concequences can be nasty if you don't. There's been a LOT of cease and desist letters sent out to fan-teams who have developed remakes or fan-sequels - expecially after demos have been released to gauge how much of a threat the project is to their copyright licence. The ChronoTrigger remake, for example, or most recently with the King's Quest IX project (which graciously was allowed to continue under Sierra/VU's strict supervision and with the caveat that it will neither be sold for profit by either group and that is not an "offical sequel". Hence the changing of the project name from "King's Quest IX: The Silver Lining" to simply "The Silver Lining".)

Considering that Sega already has a remake of Bare Knuckle/Streets of Rage in development or currently released as part of the Sega Ages 2500 series - this may cause conflicts between this group and Sega if permission hasn't be procured.

Doesn't exactly look bad, but I'd hope permission was asked for well in advanced, that should have been the first priority, right around the time you were getting the dev team together. I've seen countless, countless awesome fan-made games get canned, just because they never thought to get permission. Furthermore, if they were going to go that route, not asking for permission, they should have just leeched their game with no publicity, torrented it, etc and just gotten it out there like a virus.

Played the demo, and I very much look forward to it. I loved the new take on the bar and the added lightning effects during the boss fight. Big Streets of Rage 2 fan, as I basically was going to buy Sonic Gems on GameCube purely because Streets of Rage 2 was on it... until I found out that Sega of America removed it for the US release.

Gecko Yamori's remixes are awesome, as always. There aren't enough Sega game music remixers out there, and Yamori's stuff is definitely my favorite.

wtf, these guys stole my idea!!! I swear to god, just about all the features they've talked about I had planned on doing on a project I've been working on. Only difference is, I was going to use my own orginal created designs rather then Streets if Rage characters.

hmm interesting but i wonder what adams special attacks will be since in streets of rage1 for everyones special attack a police car came and nuked the field with a bazooka.

so i'm pretty excited...i'm not gonna lie. i played this game with my mom when i was like 11, lmao! wasn't it on sega or something like that. my memory sucks right now o_0

Currently in the demo, he can only do a spinning kick (similer to Skates A-Standstill special but he does it on his hands.)

Not everyone is 100% sure at the moment but apparantly his Forward+A special will be either a dragon-punch esque (Streeter Fighter) or possibly a flurry of kicks (similer to Axel's last 2 kicks, not sure what will follow as the last hitter.)

Hmm, to be honest this all seems like small potatoes to me, the remake doesn't seem to be all that riveting, but nonetheless, i suppose it deserves a chance. There doesn't seem to be all that much a difference.

Man, you guys did an awesome job. I didn't think the music could have been better. Some things that really bother me though, Max hits when swinging poles don't register on enemys approaching him from behind. Also did, Axel alway seem to say "Dragon Punch!" I thought he use to say "Uppercut!"

Or they could of just went with the SOR3 designs and had axel say "bare knuckle" instead of "Rise uppa!"
