Yeah, it's pretty poor you can't trust anyone but yourself when you sign up for the military. The majority of it is all 'dog and pony show'. It can be a very violent career depending on what job you choose. My job sounds cool and all but upper supervision loves to stab you in the back if it gives them a chance to look good when they go up for the next rank (That's the life story of a lot of people I know, lol)

Not entirely true. All you need is a bachelor's degree to be able to get a commission into the officer corp, after that yea you need to go to school for a while (I believe pilot's training is 1-2 years) so it's entirely possible, most people who try to make it sound so hard are the recruiters who no one should ever trust because they get credited for recruiting you and don't care as much about what you want, so they'll be more then happy to lie to you about things they don't really know about if that gets you to sign the dotted line for them.

How are you? To be more specific I work on support equipment, not on the actual aircraft. My job works on a variety of things from power generators, hydraulic test stands, air compressors, heaters, air conditioning units, bomblifts, maintenance stands, etc etc. Working on aircraft was something I wanted to do but when you join the military you don't always get what you ask for (unless you went into a critical field) It's still a good job as without it the planes can't get off the ground, so a lot of pride and importance is in the work as well. Like not a month ago while I was downrange I assisted in the efforts of getting a bomber off the ground for a sortie by fixing a piece of critical equipment they needed. The best part about the job is working on the flightline and being around aircraft everyday, seeing them take off and land and helping their maintainers get the job done.
