Hunter weapons have always been more expensive. I don't know if they're still the most played class, but usually their drops are less common. I'd have to hypothesize that less people play HU classes, so less HU drops are seen, while a lot of people player Ranger/Force, so a lot of those drops are seen. Drops are geared towards your class.

My Hunter is level 40, my ranger class is level...6? Lol. I'd level up other classes, but I need to buy AC first for a new mag. Going ranger next.

You mean that Time Attack stage? I finally fulfilled a promise for my friend playing that quest. Really, I believe I made the right decision not going for it at first. It's really not an exploration quest. Anyway, I've had enough of Tundra alone. We should game some time.
