PSU-PC Offline without internet?

I've been playing PSU on my laptop, however I continue to get an error in Japanese text if I try to load the game when I am not actively connected to the internet when I try to load the story mode.

Does anyone know why this might be or know of a workaround for this?

No PSU without internet, unless you crack the version with a special patch. Use google!
