Trying to perform a Gran Link

I'm stuck on one of the quest and I can't perform a Gran Link on a Gigantes. Am I doing something wrong?

You need someone's Pile in it, and you need Ignition. Do you have a Pile or a Partner that uses one?

If you fire a Pile into the Gigantes, your Ignition icon should light up. When the Gigantes' core glows yellow, hit the Ignition button to finish the job.
