Winter doesn't start till the end of december. If we go by current timeframe to the first update that'd be in winter would be december 29th.

I know that, but Sega clearly means something else when they say "winter", because the ruins update in PSO2 was also supposed to be a winter update, and yet we got that in early November 2012. There's other examples too but frankly I can't be bothered to dig them up.

When you spend $0 on something, any profits above 0 are "performing strongly".
