Wraith, your poems are always good. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/ic...icon_wacko.gif
Today though, I don't bring a poem of my own. I bring a poem written by the legendary, extrordianry, (you can even take a class on him)...Tupac Shakur.
I bought a book of his poems and this poem is just real pretty to me. I think in this one poem, he sums up his life....
The Rose That Grew from Concrete
by Tupac Shakur
-Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack
in the concrete
-Proving nature's laws wrong it learned to walk
without having feet
-Funny it seems but by keeping its dreams
it learned to breath fresh air
-Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else cared!
Heh, yup, Tupac is..........a genious....

Day of passage where you ache to be unbound,
ripping through flesh with a fierce fight,
from the dark walls of the motherly womb,
and ventured forth into a makeshif light,
may it be more decades till you visit your dark tomb,
the return once more to the cold ground.
Happy Birthday.

this is kinda old.
The ol Sakura
Here lies the old cherry blossom tree.
The tree has stood by for many years.
It has shared in many joys and shed many tears.
Days pass as more and more petals fall for nothing.
The many who've come before have left away no longer in number
The wind lullys the petals to their forever slumber.
The nights grew colder, the branches felt a numbing.
And let the snow fall ontop of it.
Cover away all the dying petals off the poor tree
Give it a blanket that would surely fit.
It snowed last night... was anyone around to see it?
The petals have fallen for nobody.
Nobody witnessed the beauty and majesty of the falling petals
They've rotted away waiting for someone to notice.
The graceful wind that lullied the petals to their endless slumber has gone away.
Leaving the petals to their empty dismay
Their blanketing snow has ended too.
This now slushing frozen tears lie waste to melt under the burning heart that is broken.
Here lied the old cherry blossom tree.
It had lived here for many years.
However after so long the tree wished to be free.
Free from the lonleiness and the tears.
Instead of its petals, the entire vessel has fallen.
The lullying wind not able to push it, let it feel the cool air of ending.
And the snow gave it the frozen warmth.
It snowed last night... was anyone around to see it?

The universe was made an eternity ago.
By a force most people refuse to see.
Like if the off-spring seed of a tree
Did not search for truths outside its ego.
A thought that many have seemed to have forgotten
May in fact be all we need to remember.
Like the easy transition to January from December
We can clean our spirit of all that is rotten.
Turn over to the source, accept the light.
Do not search for the answer, await instead
Like the shepard who always meets its flock in the end
Entrust yourself in that which has endless might.
What is darkness but a weak false idea made from a feeble mind?
Are we not aware of simple thoughts which lead us to our hell?
It is like a monster, horrible in shape, essence, soul and smell
Cut the monster's throat with the sword of truth, leave evil behind.
The moment of revelation is near.
Do not let yourself be afraid of lies.
For as long as the Darkness tries
In the infinity you will know no fear.
Can't blame me for trying http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/ic...disapprove.gif

Scejntjynahl - Quite nice! Interesting way to describe birth. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/ic.../icon_razz.gif
Tingle - Wow. Who wrote this one? It's very touching.
Even_Jin - Hey, its not so bad. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/ic...icon_smile.gif I can't quite single out what the overall feeling is, though. I think it might be something like the sense of being small and insignificant or spiritual enlightenment. but that's just what I pull from it.
Here's another by me, a haiku.
Eyes wide and staring
Black and purple twilight sky
Serenity here
-
Jin-I think it was great. I love the whole message of the poem
Tingle- Its so perty and so sad. Very touching poem
-
Verge. I did. A long time ago. (December ish)
I am going to do a 2nd poem/story eventually. >>

Today I was born,
no bigger than a thorn.
You held me in your arms,
with a promise of no harm.
You caressed my skin of gold,
promising forever to be hold.
I was captivated by your smile,
as you carried me for over a mile.
Today I was born,
no bigger than a thorn.
You spoke to me with such charm,
taking me to a manssion, house, or farm.
You caressed my skin of gold,
your smile is different and more bold.
The heat is rising all the while,
a sense of something terrible and wild.
Today I was born,
my flesh is beggining to be torn.
You laugh and giggle from afar,
heat tears into me with a sense of alarm.
My skin of gold changed to snow,
What has happened for I do not know.
You pick me up with a touch so mild,
and into your lips I go with such guile.
Today I hold for you no scorn,
After all I am your "popcorn".

Dear Mr.Man
What's wrong with the world today?
Things just got to get better
Show me what the leaders say
Maybe we should write a letter
Said Dear Mr. Man, we don't understand
Why poor people keep struggling but you don't lend a helping hand
Matthew 5:5 say "The meek shall inherit the earth"
We wanna be down that way
but you've been trippin since the day of your birth
Who said, that to kill is a sin
Then started every single war that your people been in?
Who said, that water is a precious commodity
Then dropped a big old black oil slick, in the deep blue sea?
Who told me, Mr. Man, working round the clock
would buy me a big house in the hood
Cigarette ads on every block
Who told me, Mr. Man, that I got a right to moan?
How about this big old hole in the ozone?
What's wrong with the world today
Things just got to get better
Dear Mr. Man, we don't understand
Maybe we should write a letter
Listen, Ain't no sense in voting - same song with a different name
Might not be in the back of the bus but it sure feel just the same
Ain't nothing fair about welfare
Ain't no assistance in AIDS
Ain't nothin'affirmative about your actions until the people get paid
Your thousand years are up
Now you got to share the land
Section 1 of the 14th amendment says "No state shall deprive any person of life,
liberty, or property, without due process of law"
Mr. Man, we want 2 end this letter with 3 words
We tired a-y'all!!!!!
by the ever so talented Prince. Explains my mood just about now.
