I loved those slimes in Phantasy Star 2 that used to endlessly split apart. If you were good you could farm incredible exp from them just by letting them split over and over and over. Good times.

Just make something really similar, but don't infringe any IP. It's a battle you won't win. Game developers do that all the time.
