I don't understand why shield has an attack and accuracy rating even though I can't seem to swing with it like in PSZero. Does it reduce the damage when blocking more than using a 2 handed weapon?...

Exactly, females had higher ATA in PSO, which is why I stated that PS:P and PSU was very unlike PSO. :)
