Just got one as I moved this... This type of ad is on most Gamespy/IGN network sites. However, we haven't had it in quite some time and it shouldn't be appearing now. Might just be a fluke that is temporarily affecting the site. I'll look into it

yea tomee... dunno what it is i use, but im getting frequent ads. MAybe 1 every 10 times i go through boards

We are working with Gamespy on this issue right now, but we may see the ads around for a little while until we figure out some things. They are technically required by the network, but have not been active on PSOW for some time. The ads are what make it possible to have dedicated hosting with unlimited bandwidth and resources, a luxury that would otherwise be expensive. However, we are against intrusive advertisements such as the ones that have started displaying. The frequency is being reduced, so if you do happen to encounter the ads, it shouldn't be often. If they do become overly bothersome to anyone, it does appear that certain browsers / plugins may alleviate the issue until we come up with a more permanent solution. Sorry for any inconvenience and thanks for the reports!

Also, if anyone experiences instances where the ads are displaying very frequently, or interfering with the functionality of the site or forums, please document it as best as possible at let us know.
