If you continue to see the advertisements frequently from this point on, let us know by posting in this thread.
YES I've got these ads way too many times! Is there something the mods can do about it?On 2007-01-19 17:58, Ryna wrote:

We're not particularly happy about the situation either. We definitely don't want intrusive advertisements like this on the site. It is a huge inconvience for everyone. However, it would not be in the site's best interests to take any steps that would disable the ads. We would be in violation of our hosting agreement. On 2007-01-20 15:56, Dr_Montague wrote:

If you could give us some feedback on the average number you are saying per unit of time, that would be extremely useful right now.
I got it about 5 times today. Random times, probably 20 minutes total in viewing the site today.
Some sites make it so you can browse without those ads if you're a registered member, doubt that can be implemented here though.
Over the course of the day:
169 threads viewed/refreshed
8 appearances, once twice in a row (click continue, get an ad)
22 forums entered/refreshed
2 appearances
When I got home, I then checked
18 threads
1 appearance
6 forums
4 appearances, 3 being literally in a row (click continue, get an ad)
I'd venture to say that we're floating at about a 5% appearance rate for any kind of forum views, with an allowance for variation. The 3 times in a row was a fluke, but I'm of the opinion that something should NEVER reappear after it's been told to go away.
