It'd be a shared drop thus any level of the enemy will have a chance to drop it. So the hunt can be done on any rank. Only the Te/Tech PP Save unit is limited by levels. You'll have to go with S rank for that since only lv 50+ of the enemy will drop it.
A shared drop? Whats that mean? Where do you get this item and what is it for?
I'd assume a shared drop means a drop on any difficulty, like polties drop acid and rappies drop their feathers.
This is just a difficult item that we need to ease up on since noone has it atm. (Kinda glad it isn't easy to have or else everyone.. and I mean everyone would have it)
The black flame visual, Jubei show's it off near the end of his video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKYvmbGmaiA
Everyone who has reported killing the rare monster on any difficulty has not found a black heart yet. There are like 2 other threads about the hive/moatoab cave so go read those too.

All enemies have 3 shared drops which are like rare drops that are shared between all of the levels. Then there's 9 rare drops that drop based on the enemie's level.
Also remember, special drops from enemies, even if they are rare ones, doesn't mean the chance of it dropping is high. Anyone that's played PSO can probably vouch for that...
That's true, but the rates of a rare creature dropping a rare seem to be much higher. Out of the 20+ Rappies I've seen, they've all either dropped a Feather/Christmas Tree or meseta. On 2007-01-27 14:21, Sounomi wrote:

ive ionly seen one black heart on the 360 and it sold for 1.25 mil.
So are you saying that increased level difficulty might increase the drop rate?On 2007-01-27 14:21, Sounomi wrote:

Some rare monsters on PSO had a 7/8 rate on their rares while others like the Purplenum Caves Mil Lily was anything but that. Feathers and Christmas Trees are easy to get. However, going after the unit the higher level ones drop is much rougher. On 2007-01-27 14:35, Umberger wrote:

Special drops that are shared between levels are likely to have the same rates regardless of the enemy's level. Ones that are set to specific level range may likely go up with the level. At this time there's been nothing to say if the rates can fluculate between levels or not. Knowing ST, the shared ones are likely always the same. The ones set to specific levels could show up more often but not likely on all of them.On 2007-01-27 16:55, Fran wrote:
