i made it up to the sky temple and i got my fortune, i went to the shrine to offer it something and it said nothing happen does anyone know what your supposed to use?

If I remember correctly, you don't always get something, but the higher the amount you'd get from selling the item to the NPC, the higher your chance of getting something.

I'm assuming that you are referring to the Shitenkaku's offertory box that you get to from the missions that take place in the Air Pavilion.

The higher the value of the item you donate the more likely you are to get something in return, but there is no guarantee that you will get something.
